3 years ago we were at Disney World - my husband got terrible blisters- he had normal Nike socks. I need no show socks that won't fall down on my heel. Suggestions? Thanks so much! Want to buy this weekend!

I find Balega socks to be extremely comfortable and worth every penny. I am a marathon runner and for road races these are my go to choice for my distance training. I also find Smartwool socks to be great if you think you are going to be in rain. They are both comfortable and manage to keep my feet warm even when running in the muddy/wet trails of the Pacific NW. You can find both at REI if you have one in your area.

Your shoes should be about three months old and wore in. If your not use to walking that much you need to up your amount gradually before your trip. That way walking at wdw would be easy. Doubt it if it was the socks.

I have balega socks as well as other less expensive performance socks. They all work the same. The key is to have good footwear that fits snugly so that it doesn't run.
My last 3 trips, I wore a pair of NB running shoes. They were light and airy to keep my feet dry and I utilized the lace lock to keep the sneaker from rubbing.

I actually prefer wool socks because they are naturally moisture wicking which helps prevent blisters. My favorite are Darn Tough hiking socks - also nice cushion on the toes and heals but these come up a little higher over the ankle bone. They also make lower running socks. http://darntough.com/women

But for cotton socks, I like Bombas socks - nice cushion on the toes and heals with a bit of a roll in the back to keep the from falling down. http://www.bombas.com/women

If he got blisters, be sure he carries extra socks and changes at least once during the day. Dry feet are happy feet.

I'll second the Swiftwick sock opinion. Fantastic socks. They are all I wear now. (But I do agree that Balega make good socks as well - I just like Swiftwick a lot better.)

I use syntethic moisture wicking socks. I also heavily powder my feet.

I can't remember the last time I had a blister or hot spot - even after walking all day at Disney!

This!
I have hiked and was a lot, and, as long as your shoes fit properly, and are broken in well, it is unlikely that, for just walking, the type of socks is going to make a massive difference as to whether or not you get blisters.
(unless you have ones which fall down and work off, but that is a size issue really)

I've tried many things, each which was made some difference...
Great fitting shoes (better but still got blisters)
Glide (helps some)
Wrightsocks socks - made a huge difference. I wear these all the time now (I've tried smartwool/etc its all to itchy for me)
ENGO Blister patches (attaches to the SHOE, not your skin like a blister bandaid). Finally, no blisters on our last 2 trips...
