Social Media in the parks

Headed to the parks next week, it’s been 5 plus years since my last trip. Looking at social media it seems every one is streaming or filming content from the parks.
Is it as much as it seems to be? Or not noticable at all? Does it cause any issues?

I apologize if this is posted in wrong section or been discussed.

I only see a few live steamers over a week long trip generally. The worst are the first time visitors holding up their phones to film rides. Like sir/ma’am, there are 1k videos of POTC online, just stop

If you're looking for them, you will see them. Most of them are just filming and look like they're talking to themselves or someone else. Most of the time they blend in and look like any other tourist filming memories. There are definitely some obnoxious ones, but you really don't see them as often.

I have not seen any vloggers or streamers in the parks, but do I try to avoid the first day of a festival or new attraction opening whenever possible. If they are there, they aren’t interfering with my enjoyment of the parks.

I must be absolutely oblivious because I’ve never spotted one. I find people who take flash picture or leave their camera light on, which is beyond annoying. But I can’t think they are anymore bothersome than the regular guest (I’ve sat behind many who talk throughout the whole attraction). Not a thing I worry about.

i may be the only one that this annoys, but when they use the top of the trash cans to hold their phones to film videos…I would never, but I just wanna knock over their phones.

I've seen one or two of the bigger content creators over the years but that is rare. I was in line once for HM and someone was live streaming behind me but I didn't turn around to see who it was and it didn't bother me so I didn't pay any attention. I think most of them try to not be intrusive so unless you are looking for them you aren't going to know. Now the every day people who hold their IPAD up in the air to film a show, yep that bothers me since I'm height challenged.

It's actually not rare. Cast Members see them almost daily. But like I said, most of them blend in and are respectful.

We happened to be at the opening night of Jollywood Nights. There were a lot of youtubers and streamers. It actually turned out to be in our favor because they were covering all the little extras and we had the run of the park. There were maybe a dozen other people in the whole SWGE land. We were interested in the party, but once we realized that it was pretty centralized, we wandered off a bit. We never really got to spend time in some of the park areas with that much freedom. We walked on a bunch of rides, had a drink in Ogas with maybe 5 other people there, then took a stroll through the empty park looking at all the little details that we missed on every other visit due to a wall of people.

On our trips in 2022 & 2024 we *noticed* 2 vloggers. I can't remember the first ones name but he was doing a food review at Regal Eagle and just happened to be sitting about 10 ft. away from us. Our daughter noticed him. If she hadn't pointed him out, I probably wouldn't have even seen him. We did watch his video a few days later and saw ourselves walking past his table. The other one we saw was Rob from Ear Scouts. I had a total fan girl moment but didn't interrupt him since he was filming. He was just simply walking and talking to his phone. He wasn't causing any kind of a scene or drawing attention to himself. Sadly, a few days after we saw him Disney announced the changes to LL that were going into effect in a few weeks, so we knew that footage he was shooting that day was probably never going to make it onto his sight (we were right).

I'm sure there are more social media influencers/vloggers there during those weeks, but we didn't see them. Maybe we would have noticed them if we had looked for them, but I have better things to do at Disney than look for vloggers and Tik Tokers.

They are there. Some you might not notice but .... some you will. You don't have to be looking for them, some are loud and obvious. Some of them are rude, interfere with what is around them and bothersome. But they are easy enough to move around, cut in front of them, continue your conversation normally etc. If I saw them getting on something before me and anticipate them impacting the ride, just step aside and let others pass.

I'm local and visit the parks 2-3 times a week. No, it's not noticeable at all. If you look for it you may spot somebody but my experience is few and far between.
