SoCal Residency Question

My entire family has Annual Passports. My STB Husband currently lives out of state but visits about once a month until we get things settled. We'd like to take my son to DLand for his birthday and planned to get my fiance an annual pass. He does not have a CA ID, but I will be purchasing the pass (payment option) and I'm a SoCal native. Can I buy the pass for him (under his name) with my SoCal Drivers License? Will he be asked to show his picture ID at the gate and will it matter after the pass is purchased?

I bought one for my adult daughter who lives in Arizona. She did have to show her ID but they allowed me (a SoCal resident) to pay for it using the monthly payments options (I got her boyfriend one at the same time, so the person does not have to be related to you). I just told them I was paying for it, showed my ID and pass, no problems.
