Soarin

We just rode Soaring on Friday. We loved it!!!!!

I was so happy to find it opened. We rode it twice with no wait.

My DH gets motion sickness on the Body Wars because of the quick movement of the film. Star Wars doesn't bother him because it is a smoother motion of filming. Will he have a problem with the way Soarin is filmed ( I hope not!)

Nope. :cool1:

Body Wars and Star Tours make me sick to my stomach but Soarin' at DCA is my absolute favorite Disney ride.

It's just an Imax film with the illusion of air on your face and the smell of orange groves. It's very peaceful. Not scary at all.

And you don't really "move" per se, more of a gentle tilting to make your "hang glider" move with the camera angle.

My wife and I rode this right after it opened at DCA, and were giggling like mad through the whole thing :rotfl: It's pure bliss.

And it's the only Disney ride I can remember where people actually applauded and cheered when it was over.

Yes, it's just that good. I can't wait to ride it in July! :thewave:

People cheered when I rode it as well.

I think it's the best ride to come from Disney in the last 10 years. Only the "classics" have a chance at beating it in terms of quality and the Disney feeling you get.

My husband and Father-in-law rode this and said never again because of the fear of heights. It is not how high the seat is from the ground, but how high your mind thinks you are as you are flying. I also get motion sick, but took a dramamine about 45 minutes before and did fine. I really did like this ride. We were at Epcot this past Wednesday and the line was over an hour wait and the fast passes were gone when we got there around 5:00. Went back Friday around 4:00 and only 20 minute wait and plenty of fast passes.

We rode it last weekend, and 3 times again yesterday. My 6 Y.O. got off and Yelled "WOW, this is better than Dumbo" If you know how much she loves Dumbo- you would know this is a great reccomendation.

I am terribly afraid of heights (for instance the balcony on our 4th floor room bothers me), and the first time riding was a little shakey. I kept doing the mom thing of trying to hold the girls back, as if they were going to fall forward, you know, like in the car. The next 3 times were awsome- I knew what to expect. Obviously- I got back on, so it can't be that bad.

We liked riding in the front row the best. You don't see other people's feet that way, also in the middle is great.

Be sure to look for the hidden Mickey!!

It is truly a great ride. HAVE FUN!!!!

We rode Soarin' last year at DCA. Our entire family loved it. We rode 3 times during our visit. It is the only ride that my DH did not gripe about the line (the only one he will stand in line for over 10 minutes!).

The movie and the motion are very well synchronized. My DH has a problem with motion rides and this one was no problem. I have a fear of heights and this did not bother me.

People cheered while we were on it and I teared up each time toward the end! It is incredible!

Someone mentioned that you were 40' in the air. Is the back row higher or the front row. How high is the lowest row from the ground? Can you tell - I'm afraid of heights - sometimes watching movies bothers me????? :confused3 :confused3

The row in front of me was higher. I could see there feet dangling in front of me. You have to remember it's not real. Your really not up that high. This is the magic of Disney!
