My sister broke her leg,
Was wondering if anyone knew if you could still do Soarin' with a broken leg, if theres some sort of special seat that people like that can ride in?
There are no special seats i Soarin'. I would suggest asking her orthopedist if it would be safe for her to be in a seat eith the leg (in a cast) dangling with no support for about ten minutes.
I agree with Cheshire Figment. She needs to check with her doctor.
During the ride, she will be suspended between about 10 and 30-40 feet off the ground with no support for her legs. The ride itself lasts for about 5 minutes total.
The ride seats for this are a line of seats attached together in rows. During the beginning of the ride, the rows of seats are lifted up in the air. The first row is lifted highest, the next one a middle height and the last row is lifted the shortest distance. This youtube video shows some good pictures of the seats and also at 37 seconds after the start, it shows a picture of the rows of seats lifted during the ride. The seats stay suspended like that for the entire ride.
There are no seats that are not suspended and no way to watch the movie without sitting in one of the seats.
I agree with the others- she should check with her ortho; (youtube in hand!)
Depending on her fitness level, she could support/elevate the cast with her non-involved leg to avoid swelling or pressure.
Luckily?!, this is a short ride!!
Wish her quick healing and a FUN trip
I'm thinking she'll probably end up going on the ride twards the end of the trip since we will be working on her with movement of the leg and weight bearing and such at that time.
