Soarin' Refurb

We try to give everyone a heads up on things like this and have been talking about it regularly since last May. I wonder how you missed it?

Best of luck!

Yeah, I know I goofed up :sad2:.Hotel/rental car reservations were made a year ago, but since then finances and stuff have kept me off this website until just recently. Wouldn't really matter, we only have a 1 week time period in March that we can go, no options for any other time. My mom is paying for the majority of the trip, I told her we could wait a year, she said,"I'm 80 years old, I might not get another chance to go, let's just go":rotfl: She's a hoot!
DD is more upset than me with the closures(we're taking her 16 yo friend who has never been), my attitude is WHO CARES, I'll be in Disneyland!!!!!:cool1:

Been planning a trip this March for over a year, should have considered the fact that attractions get refurbs before the big anniversaries, duh! Still sad that so many things will be down, especially Soarin':( I know my Mom would have enjoyed that one. DD is miffed about the Matterhorn , but that one's too bumpy for me anyway :rolleyes1

I just remembered we caught the tail end of the preparations for the 50th 10 years ago when we went in may. I guess I wasn't thinking there would be a big deal made for the 60th.

Thankfully this isn't a once in a lifetime trip for us - we're fortunate to go every couple years.

We just came home and SOC looked like the screen had already been replaced, we were impressed with how good it looked compared to last time.
