Got a question for all you guys...
Everytime my friends and I get in line for the ride "Soarin Over California" we can hear all the music in the background while waitin in line. I know most of the songs are used in several movies. There is one certain song that my friends and I wanna try to find out. We tried askin some of the Disneyland workers but they don't know anything about the music they play...they just play it. Can someone just give me some of the songs they know that are played inside the building while you are waitin in line for the ride please? That way I can see if I can find that one certain song my friends and I been tryin to guess each time we go to Disneyland. Thanx so much!!!

I was up at DL and DCA with my dad, sister, and stepmom this past Friday. My dad and stepmom hadn't been there since 2000, so they never got the chance to see DCA at all. They loved SOCA so much, we did it twice. The second time, while waiting in the room with the photographs of famous aviators, the music playing sounded like from the ending in "Mr. Mom." Dad pointed out the music was originally from "Patton." Other music is from the attraction itself and something else that I don't know, but it puts a lump in my throat whenever I hear it. :sad2:

Most of that music is John Williams - soundtracks from movies such as Space Camp, Empire of the Sun, plus music composed for the 1984 LA Olympics; and also possibly Jerry Goldsmith (Patton; maybe some music from Hoosiers?) and Randy Newman (The Natural).

One of the songs is from the Tom Hanks movie Apollo Thirteen (first used at the Olympics).

Two pieces I've recognized are music from "The American President" and "Dragon, the Bruce Lee Story." Neither aviation related, but the first movie I've seen enough times (including after riding Soarin' multiple times to reconize it during the film's opening credits), and the other was Elvis Stojko's 98 and 2002 Olympic long program music, so I'm very familiar with it as I've seen him skate to it many times.

There is also music from "Father of the Bride" and "Field of Dreams."

You can listen to the entire hour (or over an hour)-long music at:

http://www.mouseinfo.com/index.php?page=radio

If that link doesn't work...just go to mouseinfo.com and click on Disney radio. A list will appear on your screen, and you can select the Soarin' Music. Wish I had the actual list myself...such a great mix of music!

THANK SOOO MUCH EVERYONE for your help!!! I'm still workin through all your suggestions to find the song. And if you have any more suggestions I would still like more help from you. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

I am pretty sure you are thinking of the last 2-1/2 minutes of Randy Newman's "The Final Game" from the soundtrack for "The Natural" starring Robert Redford.
