Soarin Over California

I'll be visiting Disneyland in late April and was wondering if anyone had heard about possible soft openings for Soarin around that time.

I will be at Disneyland on Tuesday April 28th and according to a castmember I spoke with earlier this week, they said that Soarin will be closed until the week or 2 before the 60th celebration kicks off. She said that it has gone under MAJOR renovations and they are going to work on it until the very end.

It's under refurb until almost the 60th They're putting in 4K projectors, which I can't WAIT to see in action!!

I'm so disappointed that it won't be open on our trip! We'll be there May 6-7. My dad hasn't been since the summer of 2001, and this is one of the rides he remembers and loved. He was so excited to ride again, but sadly won't be able to It's also one of my favorite rides, and I'm disappointed that I won't get to see it refurbished. I'm guessing this my last trip for a couple years, so I'm feeling majorly bummed it.

The 60th starts on May 22nd.

I'd heard that they might present a new film once the attraction reopens. Has this been confirmed?

There were early rumors that they may have a new show, but at this point, the current refurbishment is focused on upgrading the technical side of the attraction, but not changing the show itself.
