Soarin music being updated also?

I love the ride music to Soarin. A part of me is hoping they leave the music alone. But I doubt it. Has anyone heard anything about the music specifically? Also - is Patrick Warburton still "hosting" it? Can't imagine not hearing him say "Soarin to tower". Lol.

I'm guessing we'll all just have to wait and see. Just curious if there are any rumors.

Would be very odd to not write a new score for a new movie. The music is timed to the visuals of the movie, not vice versa. New visuals likely means new score.

As for Patrick Warburton who knows. His segment can work with any film. But nothing known at this point.

That's pretty much was I'm presuming, also. But - as a composer myself - it would be fairly easy to compose a "variation" of Goldsmith's Soarin theme to match the new movie. So .. who knows! I'm betting they go a whole new direction. But we'll see. Thanks y'all!!

While I love the music, I would be disappointed if they kept the same music with the new film. I am sure I can learn to appreciate the new score just as much. Unless they really mess it up somehow.

I definitely think there will be a new score, but I also hope they do use a callback or two to the original Jerry Goldsmith score. Would that he were still with us to compose the new movie.

I hope they keep the same theme, yet tailor it to fit the new movie. I think of it like Star Wars. None of the movies have the "same" musical score, but they are all clearly Star Wars music.

They could pull a "Fantasia 2000" and make a new movie, but have one scene from the original (with original music).

No guesses on the music, but we are really hoping they keep Patrick. We listened on our last trip to make sure nothing he says mentions location, and it didn't, so we are crossing our fingers :-)

...must...not...go...away...

I would hate to have to add this to the "Things No Longer Seen At WDW" thread.

That was perfectly stated! I wish I had thought if it, though! Lol.

Exactly!

You can always get a Disney Music CD on Amazon.

I do have it and it's great! Makes me sad, though!

Wish that he were still with us to compose the new movie.

I agree. Sad. Goldsmith was amazing. Soarin sounds like a simple melody, but it's far from it. I mean, the dude composed what flying feels like. Crazy. Also the theme to Rudy is one of my favorites of all time.

If you like the Rudy tracks, then you need to hear Jerry Goldsmith's "Kick the Can" from Twilight Zone, the Movie. Click HERE.

And, there's Hoosiers. Click HERE.

I read somewhere that Soarin' was a real passion project for him since his father was a pilot. He was very proud to be a part of the project.

I'll of course never forget his scores for the several Star Trek films he did. I love those.
