Soarin for weak stomachs?

My DD and I have rather weak stomachs when it comes to rides. We're usually given the privilege of holding wallets, keys, etc. while the rest of the family does the rides. The ones that bother me are the roller coaster "downhill" type. I can handle spinning around in a circle type ride, but do not handle "drops" well. What type of "thrill" does one get on Soarin? Can anyone who has been on this explain the ride?

I frequently get carsick and Soarin' was definitely a breeze! It simulates hang gliding, while sitting. How well do you do at Impressions de France? That's about as rough as I'd classify Soarin'. It was a fabulous ride and as long as I didn't move my head around (learned this the hard way on Mission:Space), I felt just fine. Take some Bonine if you're worried. I bought some but never used it. Lots of fun! :goodvibes

The movements of the hang gliding are pretty gentle. I loved this ride. Our family went twice last month. The scenery is beautiful. We had a great time. :flower:

I am with you. Peter Pan & It's a Small World are my rides, but I was fine on Soarin".

My first ride, I was in the front row and didn't know what to expect at all. The lights go out and UP you go. That quick lift UP was the worst of it for me. My stomach went.....the ride itself is very calm and really neat. I rode it again and was in the 3rd row. That first lift off wasn't nearly as startling as you don't go as high.

Just be prepared for that stomach in throat feeling for a second upon lift off if you are in the front row and sensitive.

You can do it - it is really fun! :goodvibes

I am also the official picture taker and thing holder while my family goes on rides! But I went on Soarin in DLand, and loved it. I would have went again if the line wouldn't have been so darn long!
It was great, go on it! If my stomach can handle it, I am sure yours can!!

I could have written your post. Even the slight drop in POTC makes me freeze and I can´t even breath and I swear my heart stops when I am on that ride (or when I was there last, since I am not planning on doing it again in a near future, lol).
