I just got back from my 29th trip to WDW and had a great time. Last year we only had one day in the parks and got to Soarin' too late for a FP and the standby line was 2 1/2 hours long. We were SO excited to get to ride it this year, but both me and my friend were a little disappointed. I had heard that if you aren't on the top row of seats that you would have feet dangling practically in front of you. Well, we were on the bottom and it's definitely true. Actually, a little distracting if you have people kicking their legs back and forth when you're trying to really get into the attraction. Anway, we noticed the following when we got off:

1) The queuing isn't like other Disney attractions at all. It seems like at all of the
others there are things to keep you occupied while in line. Do you think that
Soarin' will only be a temporary attraction and that's why this is the case?

2) Two words..........dangling feet! :) Actually, with all of the Disney
"magic" involved with most other attractions, I was a little suprised that
they didn't do something about this problem.

3) When my friend got off the first thing he said was that he felt that it was
more on par with a Universal or Six Flags attraction because of the way
the film literally jumped from one scene immediately to the next.

I hope that I haven't offended all of you Soarin' fans out there, but I was a little disappointed in this attraction. I still love it simply because it's a Disney ride, but I didn't feel like it was on par with their other attractions. Did anyone else feel this way? Please don't flame me for my opinion! :teeth:

I think Soarin' is one of the best Disney attractions ever!!!!

I sat in rows 2 and 3 a few times. The feet didn't bother me at all. We loved Soarin! It's one of my favorite attractions of all of the parks.

Sorry but I don't agree with you. We love Soarin' I think it is a great family attraction out party ages ranging from 5 to 64 all loved it. But I thought you expressed your opinion nicely. So no flames here.

I see the dangling feet no different then the bobbing heads at other Sim rides.

The queuing in DL is better but I think they might do some improvements after it's made official that it's permenent.

As far as Sixflags no way but the Universal yes as they are getting way better at theaming of their rides.

Also if you nicely ask for front row and they can bump you to the que they generally do.

My family and I loved Soarin', but I too was annoyed by scene cuts. It was too rapid and some scenes didn't make a smooth transition. But, all in all, I really like the ride.

My family all loved Soarin' too. We rode on it a few years ago at Disney Land and then last September at WDW. I do agree that the queue could be better though.

truthfully i never really noticed the dangling feet. we were fortunate to ride soarin multiple times during our last trip and sat in a different row each time. i think this is a great attraction and i think it is here to stay. different films would be great though. the quick transition from one scene to another was quick but it really didnt bother me at all. in a way it just added to the thrill of the ride because you didnt know what to expect next.

i do agree that the queue line could use something a bit more entertaining to ease the boredom that inevitably sets in during a long wait, more video monitors would help.

nothing wrong with expressing your opinion here. i think that after waiting 2 1/2 hours on line to get on anything will definitly dampen any enthusiam you may have had. maybe next time you try it you could ask the cm if you could be placed on the top row.

Nope - doesn't seem "Un-Disney" at all to me. Its a great new approach to entertainment, exactly the type of thing I expect of Disney.

But I will agree that the queue area could use some theme-ing to make it more bearable in those long waits.

Soarin is definately one of our family favorite attractions! :thumbsup2 To me it's worth the extra wait to request the front center row to not see the dangling feet.

Soarin is themed differently than CA. I like the aviation history at CA better. It is a permanent attraction, it was a "gift" from Disneyland for the 50th anniversary.

I have ridden it many many times and can look past the feet. I got to meet the Imagineer when the ride opened at Epcot. I gushed like I was talking to a rock star but told him the ride was awesome!!!!

I was in San Francisco last week at the Golden Gate bridge and I felt like I had already seen it because of Soarin. It is amazing how many people clap when they are done riding Soarin.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I do have to disagree.

Like previous posters I absolutly LOVE soarin', I actualy rode Soarin' over California in DCA a few years ago and fell in love. It's what Disney is all about, pushing the bar to create new and unique attractions that the entire family can enjoy. I just wish there were more attractions along those lines.

Like Walt Disney said we already have done pigs, Im not going to do pigs again.
(when asked to do more "3 little pigs" animated shorts) I want to see more unique rides, not rehashing the same thing over and over again.

The first time I rode Soarin I was definitely disappointed. We too were in the third row.
The dangling feet did not bother me at all, but I just didnt get it..

Then we rode it again. This time, we were right in the middle (this is the key to me, to be in the middle section and not right at the ends) and it was absolutely AMAZING! I really felt I was flying.

I would rather not ride Soarin at all that ride at the sides.. it has to be the middle section for me.

Please do try it again at some time. I expect if you sit somewhere else you will feel differently.

I have ridden Soarin at both parks and love the Theme of DL compared to that of WDW. The queue flowed a lot more and had a definite feel and theme to it. I was told that the queue area at WDW is that of three major US airports, when i aske dthe CM which ones I got a blank stare and an "I don't know". I wish that they would inform the CMs of these types of details as it may help us understand the theme they were trying to create.

Overall, I really enjoy the ride, the sights and sounds blend perfectly. It is a MUST SEE for our family. I prefer the top row, but enjoy it at every level.

Well, I guess I am of the minority too. Soarin is just o.k. to me. I could live with it or without it. On the other hand, my husband loved it. He has his favorites and I have mine and that's what makes WDW special. It has something special for all of us!!!

Soaring: DW and I just loved this ride, we got the chance to ride it 3 times our last visit, and hope that the up coming trip, it'll be even more. I thought the queue line was great, reading all the different questions and waiting for the answers to appear. Each time we moved there was different questions coming up on the boards, had a great time with all the people around you tring to come up with the right answers. We got to ride in different rows and really didn't see that much of a difference in the positions. We feel that this ride was a wonderful new addition to DisneyWorld. Simply could not get enough.

I enjoyed the ride, but the dangling feet did bother me. I did feel distracted thoughout the ride by the feet swinging in front of me. I do agree with OP that the ride would have been better for me had the feet not been there.

Sorry, another disagreeing family here. It is our absolute favorite ride. I will say the queue theming at DCA with all the aviation history is a lot better. We went to DL the other night, but our first stop as at DCA to ride Soarin' before moving to DL park.
