Is Sorain' at all like Peter Pan? Someone mentioned they are similar in another post saying that the flying feeling in peter pan is like Soarin. I was worried about trying soarin because I normally don't like thrill rides, I easily get dizzy, but I like the peter pan ride. :confused3

The two can in no way be compared as to ride experience.

Your ride vehicle "hangs" from a mechanism in both rides... but that's about all that is in any way similar.

In my opinion, Soarin' is like sitting in an IMAX in a suspended chair. My husband gets ill from spinning rides and he can handle this ride with no problems at all.

Wow, I thought they were nothing alike.

Soaring is more of a thrill ride. Soaring has a panoramic screen that surrounds you, the seat once in place doesn't move. You will feel air blow at you, mist surround you and smells envelope you. It gives the impression of hang-gliding over California. So long as you watch the screen, you shouldn't have any problems.

Soarin' is the most amazing ride! You just feel weightless like you are flying, but no movements that make you feel like you left your stomach behind. Trust me, I'm the queen of being seasick and sometimes carsick, and I thought it was wonderful!

Apples and oranges, those rides. I have trouble with motion sickness in cars, buses, and airplanes.....but not one bit of trouble on either of these rides.

I did, however, have trouble with Star Tours and would never even consider Mission Space.

I can see where they both have you in a seat suspended from the top, and both are meant to give the impression of flying. The illusion is different in each, though. For me, there is something about flying over London at night that just works in Peter Pan. Soarin is really an amazing illusion, though and I hope you decide to try it. I thought it felt very safe and solid at the same time as it felt like we were flying over California. My motion sickness-prone mother and my 88 year old grandmother rode Soarin' recently and both were absolutely thrilled with the experience. Neither was made ill or nervous in the least by it and both were glad that they rode.

If my mother can ride Soarin anybody should be able to. I would not discribe Soarin as a Thrill ride. Soarin is a wonderful experience, but Thrill ride implies that it is something to get you excited & your heart pumping. Soarin is not to be missed, but it should not make you motion sick or raise your blood pressure.
