Soarin and GG

I made a ressie for GG on April 25, no problem, than I got a call back they just found out GG is not reopening until July, anyone here if Soarin' is delayed or am I jumping to conclusions.

There is a post on the restaurant board saying that someone tried to make a PS but the GG wasn't opening until June. Don't know if that means just the restaurant itself or the whole Land Pavilion.

They took our ressie at 7:05 yesterday am and at 3:15pm left a message they were cancelling - just found it the rehab was delayed.

That stinks...we might be going back in June and I was hoping to see The Land all done...so Soarin' wont' be open in May as planned?

I just saw on Intercot that special sneak previews of Soarin' will be held April 15 thru April 17 during regular park hours for AP holders. This info supposedly from the Feb. Mickey Monitor...hmmmm...could there possibly be a soft opening prior to that? Perhaps the GG renovation is behind schedule but Soarin' is still on track? Or, perhaps the MM jumped the gun and in fact Soarin' is also behind schedule? Very curious to know!!

I also have no idea what soaring is.. but I hope GG is open by the time we go in June. We love the ice cream social!

Soarin' is a new ride being build at the Land pavillion in Epcot. It will be like the ride by the same name in California (at Disney's California Adventure park).

We leave there on the 15th...and I won't have APs either! But I really, REALLY want to ride this ride.

Actually in DL/CA it's called "Soarin' Over California," but in the Florida park they are leaving off the end.

Once again I will vouch that Soarin' is awesome. It's my favorite "ride" to date because I just can't believe how intense it is for a ride which barely moves.

For spoilage it is best described as a hanglider simulator, where you sit in seats suspended from above and are thrust forward into an IMAX-like theater. The seats move in coordination with the movie on the screen to give an uncanny feeling of flight. Wind machines and scents to go along with the scenes just make it that more intense.

Sounds like fun!! No one seem to know for sure when it opens? Maybe it will be open during my trip 5/28-6/4.

I always assumed it would be open by May 5 due to the celebration. I wonder if they are still going to pull this off?
