Hi there, Can anyone tell me about Soap weekend in Nov. I"m going with two of my friends and while I never watch soaps they do and are planning to go. I'll be at the food Fes which I"ve never been to and wonder how many hours a day they will need for the Soaps. I really would love to hear from anyone who has been. Thanks

You know, I happened to be visiting WDW a few years ago and it was Super Soap Weekend. It all took place at MGM, and honestly, it was run very well. The actors were specifically placed around the park and roped off lines were there for those who wanted to wait for an autograph or a picture. I think they even gave out tickets for them, as well. Every few hours, a short parade of actors went up the street to a stage where they conducted interviews or games. It was not imposing for anyone who wasn't a soap fan. You could still navigate around the park to rides and shows, without running into any "soap" activity. It looked like the fans were having a great time, and, I have to admit, it was fun to see the actors I recognized. As for how long your friend will need to be there, that's variable. I guess it depends on who or what she really wants to see. Activities went on all throughout the day.

We went to this last year. One nice thing, the rides are all virtual walk ons while this is going on (at mgm). It wasn't nearly as crowded as i thought it would be. I was able to see all the stars up close that i wanted to see, some were close enough to touch and even posed for me. I stayed at the same hotel they did (yacht) and saw alot of them in the lobby. Some even stayed on our floor and passed me in the hall. It was like BEING in a soap! lol

I went to Soap Opera Weekend in 2004 and for a person that is very into General Hospital I loved every minute of it. Didn't get to make it in 2005 Soap Opera Weekend because I am expecting a baby and it was too much for me!! You can get all the coming attractions of your soap by going to the different shows that they have. The autographs are by Fast ONLY. I was only able to get two autographs because of all the General Hospital fans but I was happy with that. During you autograph session you are able to get a photo with them too. The motor car parade is the best because you can snap as many pictures of your favorite soap stars because they are all there. :cheer2:
