I tihink i read somewhere that the ASMovies have a soap dispenser in the shower rather than little bars of soap and bottles of shampoo. Is this so? Should I pack my own toiletries?

I believe all the All-Stars do. There is shower gel on one side and shampoo on the other. I guess if you don't mind using that then it isn't necessary to pack your own but if you want to then do so.
I use the shampoo but take my own condtioner. I use there soap. And this june I have made up my mind to use the hair dryer at the resort. And cheapness has nothing to do with it.
I use my own shampoo and conditioner but I use their soap usually.
I would use the hair dryer also if it was stronger.
I don't think it is about being cheap , I think a lot of times it is less to pack and just easier for many people.
Good question. I thought everyone brought their own shampoo and soap. I know I pack my own soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc...I could never use the Disney Shampoo. I wouldn't be able to drag a comb through my hair if I did.
I just cleaned out all the bodywash and conditioner samples in my closet that have been gathering to take them to WDW... I can't use the Ivory Mickey soap and I like my own shampoo too. Sometimes I buy special shampoo and conditioner and bodywash for my vacation so it feels special...this time we're on a budget but for me I just can't use that shampoo and conditioner and soap or else my skin and hair will be a nightmare.
