Soap and Shampoo

Hi All, odd question regarding Soap and Shampoo.

I'm travelling alone for the Half Marathon, and my niece wants as much stuff as I can bring back. LOL. If I was to leave $10 on my first day with a note for the cleaning staff saying "Please leave as much soap and shampoo as you're allowed for a room each day", would that do any good? I'm assuming they'll limit what they give me as a single room occupancy vs. a family of 4 or 5.

My brother and I co-purchased an RV, and I'd like to load it up with Soap and Shampoo for the kids. I won't be anywhere near the resort during cleaning time, so I won't be able to ask in person.

I think that, if you just remove the soap and shampoo from your bathroom area, the housekeeping staff will replace it daily when they clean, no questions asked. I've done this a few times when I wanted extras. And I've also just asked a housekeeper in the hallway if I could have a few extra soaps or shampoos, or whatever, and they have always been very willing to accommodate.

In honesty, I don't think the size of the tip will necessarily change the amount of soaps and shampoos that will be left nor is the size of the party really a factor. I do put away the soaps and shampoos each day and a new set has been left each time. So if you're in a room with a single bathroom, you'll probably be left a single set of toiletries. You can request additional, but I would not expect more than one or two sets at most.

On the same vein, if you do opt to leave a note, be sure to do it each day and not just the first day. Housekeepers can change, so the housekeeper on the first day may not be the same on the next day.

We have asked for extra, because my daughter can go thru a entire bottle of shampoo & conditioner in one shower.
Last time I ran into our mousekeeper in the hall, and she gave me a bag full.

If you're out and about fairly early there is usually a housekeeper around who can give you some.

If you leave a note that would probably work too.

I've called and asked mousekeeping for extra, especially conditioner. My DDs all have waist length hair, and use one bottle per shower. They dropped off a large bag, and left extra daily.

Many times the housekeepers are not that fluent in English and might not even be able to read your note. Plus, you can buy the shampoo, soap, conditioner, etc in the hotel store.

Twice I have done this. The first time was just me and my wife I caught the housekeeper just after we got in the room slipped a tip and asked "When you get a chance would you leave some extra soap and shampoo in room xxxx" five minutes later shes knocking on the door with a bag full for us and asking if we need anything else. The other time I left a note and tip and they left several sets for us. I would say if possible try to see the housekeeper in person.

We were just there a couple weeks ago and we just removed ours from the bathroom area and they brought more everyday without asking. Plus our daughter asked the housekeeper for extra one day and she gave her plenty.

I left a few dollars and a note asking for extra soap and shampoo on my first day and the mousekeeper left me half a dozen of EACH everyday. I almost ran out of room. I had bars and bottles inside shoes and pockets and every nook and cranny...

I gave it away. Now I just put up any unopend products and they replace them, they still often leave me multiples. (I give them to a couple of little girls I know, I don't use any of the products except one hand soap).

Yes I probably could have, and would have if I ran out of room (last trip I did not ask for extra and they left them anyway, I had limited room and left a couple of bottles).
