DCA doesn't have the number of attractions that DL has (something like 1/3, I believe). You can see everything, enjoy a leisurely lunch, and soak in the ambiance in DCA in a full day (without feeling rushed). Get there early, head straight to the back (the Paradise Pier area, with boardwalk-style rides), and work your way forward. Take advantage of e-tickets, and be aware that Soaring over California is by far the most popular ride. Therefore, get your Soaring e-ticket before mid-day.
