I wonder if she happened to go to DLR on a day when it was pouring rain? That is the only circumstance in which I could imagine many rides being closed, and even then, they usually are not closed. But I recall that on Christmas Day, 2004, it POURED and POURED heavy, heavy rain. Our ceiling had the spots and leaks to prove it. It was bad. If your friend went then, maybe I could see some rides being closed. Otherwise, isn't Christmas Day pretty much business as usual at DLR? They don't close down like every other place does.

She didnt' say anything about rain but I will ask her. I was thinking she went in EE and they only had Fantasyland open which would make sense. I too was under the impression that Christmas day was business as usual.

Yep, it would either have had to be pouring like in 2004, OR as you suggested, she used the EE option and only FL was up and running. Otherwise, I think DLR is one of the only places around that IS fully functional and operational on all holidays, 365 days a year. Everything is open in DLR unless they are doing maintenance or something.

I've had several friends and family plan a trip and discuss it with me. I e-mail them with a link to Hydroguy. Then if they ask more questions, I answer them as best I can. My brother and his wife were really grateful!

A few years ago they were remodeling a lot of rides for the 50th anniversary, and that cased a lot of ride closures for quite a while. That is all I can think of.
