We're not boring.....our conversation was. But then given that I was giving the US cues about "boring them"....it was only to be expected that someone would shoot that arrow back.

I just made frosting... Four different colors. One small bit of green, two shades of blue, and a red that came out a little more of a dusty reddish pink. It's pretty, but not the red I was going for. I just don't feel like messing with it anymore.

No, it's for Monday's class. It's cupcake and flower night, so we have to bring the green and blue frostings and then a fourth one of your choice of color. I'm also going to make some caramel tomorrow afternoon or Sunday night to fill the cupcakes with. It takes a while to make, which is why I want to make sure everything is done by the time I go to bed on Sunday.

I'm definitely enjoying them, and looking forward to the second one. I'm not going to take it until probably April, since I can't take it in February (new job, not sure of the hours yet), and there's no second course at that Michaels in March.

I will however defend that our conversation was NOT boring....

Turnip cake is a fascinating conversation topic

I have a lot of Asian friends. Some ABC and some from Hong Kong so mostly very "Aussie" but they have the family traditions etc that come through. So I find it interesting getting your perspective sometimes

I mean it's not like I 'seek them out' Asian friends...it's just happens in Australian society and we tend to get along well (especially HK or Southern Chinese descent) and I end up working with them and although 'similar' things can be so different at times. Just interests me is all.

One has a Grandmother who is Indonesian Chinese heritage but a father (and other family) living in Hong Kong where she was born. She worked there for a couple years too but is now back for good.
Her Aussie/US twang though is hilarious although she's only been here since 1997? As it started with International school in Hong Kong.
