We spent tonight with my Dad and sister's family for my Dad's birthday. Of course he says he's 39 again.

Work is crazy busy so taking two vacations is nuts. Both were planned over a year ago and approved way before two people retired so that on top of a huge reorganization means everything is taking twice as long to get anything done.

Off to bed for me, I have to be at the dentist at 7AM.

Skiing. There are restrooms on every floor of the building within the lift core area.
Our office takes up the whole of our floor. So for security outside 8-6 office hours you need swipe card access to 1- access our floor. And 2- to open the sliding door between the lift core and our office.

So. If that security protocol is in action I need a swipe card to get between the lift core (including restrooms) and the office.

If it weren't for the free lunch today I might have just gone home when I couldn't get to our floor even at 8:30am.

3 hour lunch.....ahem.... Hehe

Got to the office and was still in security so off to level 10 I went rather than my floor.
I don't have a card as I'm not 'permanent'. But the biggest issue is the toilets are in the lift lobby. So to get back in the office I need a card.

So sick of this crap. Already got sore eyes and a headache.

It was, we had our own private chef prepare us NY steak, shrimp and Asian veggies.

We walked over as other than groups they are walk up but they were full with up to a 1.5 hour wait...

So we went to a bar/cafe/restaurant called The Establishment. Their two big tables had just been taken but they have a big lounge area so we ate there. No food porn from there. Had a nice Chicken Burger...

The Government has issued a travel warning due to the cold weather.

They suggest that anyone travelling in the current icy conditions should make sure they have the following:

It actually went off when we were sitting in maccas in Paris (getting out of the weather)!! We think it was a gust of fumes from the subway or something through the door.

I'll see what we do. I might compile some stuff if it might be 'useful' to people. But I'm not hanging out where people go to the UK "first time round" really.

Pretty much 9 days and a few hours til I get to the UK.

I've bought a one time pass for the United Club because my layover in SFO is 6 hours. Now I love SFO and they have great shops. But I've bought one pass as I can use it in either direction...it actually lasts for a year...and if I want to go in on the way over I'll have it ready.
It's $39USD online or $50USD at the door.
