When you get there, what do you do? Is there a special line for pick up?

Mobile order is it two phases - place the order at your leisure, and then tap “I’m here” when you arrive at the restaurant. There is a specially marked pickup window to grab your food. You can have any amount of time lapse between placing the order and hitting “I’m here,” since they don’t prep the food until then. If you hit “I’m here” and then ran off for 20 minutes, well, I guess you’d have cold food!

I did have an issue once where I placed the order but waited until I got closer to do the "I'm here". The app had crashed or exited before I could do the "I'm here", and my order was canceled. I got an email stating the order had been canceled.

The app crashed for me too and my order was just never placed. It was a pain and they ended up rushing our order and refunding our $.

Once you tap "I'm here" do you get a table and wait for someone to call you? Do you get in a mobile order line? Do they call your name send you a text, what??

There is usually a separate pick up window marked online order pickup (or similar). You will get a text that your food is ready. Head to the pickup window and get your food. It's really that easy.
Depending on where you are eating, some will let you find a seat before you have your food.

The line was insane! I pulled out my phone and ordered through the app and I got a message it was ready before we even found a table. It was awesome!

Can those who used mobile ordering tell me if you can pay with a Disney gift card or is it tied to a credit card? I rented DVC points so I won't have a hotel bill. I did buy a bunch of Disney gift cards to get gasoline bonuses and % back on the Disney VISA. I figured if I bought food using my magic band, I could always have the Disney gift cards added to my "bill" at my DVC hotel so I would be slowly paying off the balance before the hotel submitted my credit card charges. I have done that in the past.

It seems that I remember that after you text them with the "I'm here", the app gives you a #, so that when you get to the counter, they know whose order is whose. One place I went to it was no problem because I was the only one there.

It is tied to the credit card that you have attached to your MDE account or its billed to the DDP if you are using that. I don't believe there is a way to add gift cards to MDE . Your idea of paying off the account each day at the desk should work.

I don't think you can charge to the room with mobile ordering. Only dining plan or credit card.

The one and only time we had an issue is they actually made our Dole Whip Floats without us touching we are here--I had gotten an alert from MDE saying our order was ready to pick up. We did have them remake it because we ordered them while on the Railroad.

So what they wanted to do, of paying off the magic band charges at the front desk each day with their gift cards can be done. Its not convenient, but is the only way i know of to do it unless you just pay with the gift cards initially and don't use the magic band at all for charging.

Correct, but they wanted to use a gift card for mobile ordering, by using the magic band and then paying at the hotel, which cannot be done with the mobile ordering. Only if they just ordered normally at the counter.

You are correct. I was looking at it in general where that works. Mobile ordering is billed directly to your credit card, trying to pay it off at the front desk would not work.

Ok, so what I hear is that when using mobile ordering, your credit card is charged immediately, as opposed to some random time when your hotel bill hits $x. Unfortunately we will be spending more $$ than the gift cards I have. Though l’ ll also have Disney Rewards dollars ( which I also assume you cannot use with mobile). We’ll figure it out. If we have to go to counter we will. Knowing is half the battle. Thanks!
