Just saw the Na'vi language primer, and learned about the new product Disney will be offering this summer: The Na'vi Translator Device. For a person who has studied four languages and teaches English, this is right up my alley.
Anyone know the origins of this language? Was it created for the movie, or was it created by Disney for their new land? Maybe a mix of both? I found some sites that claim to have dictionaries for the language, but how do we know if this is the language they are using in the park, or if this is something some random person just made up?
At any rate, I will be able to say "please," "thanks," and "Eywa be with you" in Na'vi by the time I get to Pandora. As someone who has traveled to several foreign lands, it just seems like the right thing to do.
