So who's doin' New Year's Resolutions?

Last year my partner and I did a pre-New Years resolution and lost a lot of weight (me more then him, but I needed to lose more). This year will be to just continue on the progress.
 
A few years ago, I decided I didn't have to have things 'just so,' that if some things were disorganized or not in it's place, life would still be good.
I'm re-thinkin' that one now.

Then again, there is still only 24 hours in a day, right? :rotfl:

Just don't use that one again. You guys are great sizes now, but if you lose any more weight you'll have that wispy, under-fed look :rotfl:

I on the other hand, am planning on trying to lose some weight. I've been a 34" waist since high school, and it's about time to get rid of it!

HAHA...we hide it well.

I was 225 before I started watching what I eat, working out, etc. I am now 175. I want to be 155 - 160 when all is said and done. If I meet my goal, I'm getting ink down both sides of my ribs that will taper down into my groin area.
 
My resolution this year, as it is every year, is to lose a lot of weight. This year another resolution is to start going out more often (some people have a hard time coming out, I'm still working on going out.) That might be easy for some, but for me not so much. At any rate, as my father used to say, if you're going to reach for the stars, reach for the lowest one you can find.
 
My goal is to make more alone time for just my DP and me. Since our dd came into our lives three years ago, we haven't found a lot of just "us" time. I cannot remember the last time we went to the city for dinner and a show (and we used to go two/three times a month pre DD). I think it is important for our relationship to have more "alone" time so we will stay the cool parents that we are :lmao: !!

Of course I would like to lose 10 pounds also :rotfl: !! Especially after the last two days of NON STOP EATING!!!!!!!!!
 
DBF and I are giving up smoking cloves. We are not addicted(I can go 2 weeks no problem without one) but I still don't like the idea of smoking. After new years, no more!

He already lost weight and is doing well. I would like to start a resolution of making a workout routine.
 
I want to get out more and do stuff, stop being such a homebody. I'd also like to stop being so shy and put myself out there more.
 
I'd like to be more purposeful this year.
After spending many years raising my children (and thinking it to be a most worthy endeavor), I find that except for being a good human being in general, I don't feel as if I am contributing anything worthwhile.

I need to find a volunteer position. Preferably working with teen Moms or the like.

Yup, I need to volunteer.....
 
My resolutions are to pay off credit cards and to rid my house of clutter. It's amazing how it all adds up!

I've never done resolutions before, but, I'm thinking about it. I'll let you know if I decide on something.
 
I try not to make specific resolutions to start on a specific day (day after new years) because I always fail and then I'm disappointed with myself. So usually I make general promises to myself to "get healtier" or something along those lines. A general promise to myself. That way I try not to beat myself up for not making my goal if that happens.

If I had to be specific, I'd say to quit smoking when I'm drinking. Oh, and stop charging on my credit cards.....

If you typically drink in a bar then in April you will get a big boost with not smoking since the city passed that new ordinance! If you drink and smoke at home I guess you are on your own! :rotfl2:

I am not big on resolutions because I never stick to them. I do need to lose weight. DS got a Wii Fit for Christmas and it is kind of fun, but I can't see myself dropping a bunch of weight just using the Fit. I don't even know how to turn it on by myself. I guess if I plan to use it in the morning before work I will have to master turning it on and off first. ;)
