HA -- us too! DH and I will be 69, so we figured we'd save up and use the last three years worth of points for a very long blow-out retirement trip (assuming we'll be able to afford to retire, that is)!
DVC will have to start upgrading their facilities/equiptment. We will be needing:
1. lighted large keypad telephones
2. telephone ring amplifier
3. "lighted" light switches or better yet
4."clap on-clap off" to operate lights ,TV's etc...
5. air con temp should not go lower than 88 degrees
We're taking it to the end. In 2042, I'll be 84 and DW will be...well...younger. Nevertheless we fully expect to be there when OKW closes up (God willing). We're trying to plan ahead so we'll be prepared to do an OKW add-on sometime between 2035 and 2038. Doing so will let us stay in a 2 bedroom villa rather than a 1 bedroom...I expect we'll need the extra bedroom for our live in nurse/caregiver.
I'd like to think we will take it to the end as we will be in our 80's when it expires.
However, to be truthful, it's hard to predict. 36 more years is really a long, long time and who knows what WDW will be like then? Keep in mind that WDW is only 35 years old now, and look how much it has changed since it opened. Will they go to the dark side and try to "out-thrill ride" Universal? Will they be bought by someone who slashes guest services? Who knows?
We shall see, but depending on a variety of things, we might not ride it out until the end. Part of it will probably depend on our kids willingness to take over the ownership at some point.
Will be 76 y.o. when our SSR contract expires, and we intend to be there right at the end. Of course I also got DH to agree to staying at nothing but deluxe after that because I intend to celebrate my 100th birthday at WDW.
I'll be 95 yrs young and DW 98 and as long as the make fast pass better say like ultra fastpass then I"M fine as long as my kids will take us there because we might not remember where it is . aaah, what were we talking about
