IF the Gators win the SEC, I think they will end up in the Sugar Bowl. I don't think they will play for the Nat'l Championship under any circumstances. If OSU does not play USC, they will play Michigan.

Unfortunately, my issue this year with the Gators ( & trust me, I bleed Orange & Blue as much as anyone here....) is that their offense is mistake prone and not productive enough. They have won 11 games, but most were "ugly" wins (& pretty tense too. I watched the South Carolina game with a bottle of nitroglycerin pills in my hand.).

And they get too many freakin' penalties.

But the Gator "D" can stand toe to toe with any team in the nation, USC & OSU included.

If they can stop Darren McFadden in the SEC game, they will win. If not, it's probably the Citrus Bowl in Orlando (IMHO)

I think the strength of schedule should weigh in their favor. They beat a fair amount of top 10 teams, and beat themselves at Auburn (ahhhh, being a Gator is such a HEAVY burden sometimes........). They have had maybe 3 "easy" teams on the schedule, while ND has played 5 teams whose defenses ranked worse than 85th.

But it's all theoretical physics unless a playoff system is created that is fair to all teams.............

::yes:: ::yes::

I'm all for a playoffs, but one part of your statement rings true to me -- "fair to all teams". I think the nightmare in a college football playoffs is structuring it in such a way that everyone feels like a "true" National Championship is determined. I mean, if you go with 4 teams (which looks like it would work this year), then the likely possibility exists that there's a number of 1 loss teams get left out (and the Boise State's of the world). If you go more than 4 teams, then you have to really adjust the regular season's of teams, which plays havoc into conference schedules.

But yeah, with the exception of years like last year, there's no other good way to figure this out.

On the Playoff note, I believe both the UF President and FSU President is firing off some playoff plan to the NCAA. We'll see if this gets anywhere. Probably not. :rotfl2:

I am not sure Florida will end up in a BCS game ... I think there is an excellent chance that Arkansas will win the SEC Champ. game. If that happens and the BCS bowls want another SEC team (only 2 teams from each conference can be invited), I think it will be LSU.
