So when do they actually charge your card for HDD?

We are doing the dining plan, but paying OOP for HDD. I know they take your credit card number at the time of making the reservation, but when do they actually charge your card - at the time of your reservation or six months from now when you actually eat your meal? I'd prefer to pay for it NOW because I plan to have everything paid for by 45 days before we go, and then when we get there all we have to pay for is extras.

This came up a few weeks ago. The consensus was that your card was charged the day you make the reservation.

Yes, your card is charged the day you make the reservation. I can attest to this as they charged me $500+ when I made our ressies for August in Feb.

Since your paying OOP they charge it the day you book it, if your paying with DDP it's not charged, it's just a hold for your reservation
