If it helps maybe you should keep a diary of some sort so that when the time comes for you to bring it up again, you will have the dates and times of the occurrences.

If the law reads the same as our state he will be in serious trouble if there was an accident. My uncle was a fire chief in a volunteer fire department and private cars had lights to use when responding to a fire. this subject came up once and he was informed by law enforcement that exceeding the speed, going thru stop lights and crossing the center line is a privilege, not a right. If it is found the driver is not responding to a call he will be charged. If it is found the driver was wreckless he wil be subject to charges.

My uncle also told the men if he saw any of this they are off the department.

I've seen police cars use their lights to change signals and then turn off their lights after they get through the intersection .

I've never heard of this and tried to look it up on google and couldn't find anything on it. I don't think rotating/flashing emergency lights trigger traffic lights.

Nope, it's not an urban legend. It's a separate system attached to the traffic signal (one type is OPTICON)

The system contains a strobe light set at a certain frequency on the vehicle that is picked up by a receiver on a pole attached to the light. It looks like a small black box.

Around here, I'm aware that the individual fire departments are responsible for the purchase and maintenance of the systems so it's only on main intersections on the main routes to the local hospitals.
