When ever we are there, we pass it and it is empty and roped off. Is it a restaurant or something? I had heard that at one time it was a bbq place, which I could eat everyday (bbq sauce goes with everything you know:lmao: )
So whats the deal?
Anyone have any info?
Thank you and Happy Independence Day!

I wanna know the same thing because my parents took my cousin and I there
when I was about 10 yrs old ( i'm 23 now) and I haven't seen it open since.
The meals came with bbq ribs, potato salad, corn and we got chocolate covered mickey
mouse shaped cheesecake for dessert. It was great !! I wish it would be open
again because I would SOO love to eat there again.

Happy Independence Day to you too !!!

Big Thunder Ranch is a petting zoo area. It's quite fun actually for little ones. It's opened during the daytime. During Halloween Time it transforms to Woody's Halloween Roundup where you can watch shows with Woody & gang, see pumpkin carving, and participate in arts and crafts. During Christmas time it becomes Santa's Reindeer Roundup where you can meet Santa, see the reindeer, see a show with Mrs. Claus and Chip and Dale and usually Pluto, color, or purchase cookies for decorating. The barbecue area no longer exists as it has become the Festival of Fools area for private events.

oooooooooh I see, wow all that and no bbq?:lmao: Just kidding, thank you for the info. It actually sounds fun.
What is the festival of fools? And why havent I been invited:lmao: hmmmmmmm?

Yes, it is fun! I'm surprised you have never seen it open - maybe you are usually there during times they would be changing it for the season or at night time?

The festival of fools is the arena area behind Big Thunder Ranch. It was used for a while for a Hunchback of Notre Dame outdoor theater show. Now it is used for private events, such as pin trading days or corporate parties. You can see it slightly as you go by on the train.

I am surprised I havent seen it too. Although when we pass by there, we are usually ripping past people to go on HM or the other direction to go on the Pooh Bear ride. It is always dark when we pass it. Hm, Ill have to keep my peepers open ... thank you for the info.:wizard:

LOL, he made a big clump of frosting. :) Actually he was doing OK, then Mrs Claus came over, and with the help of some toothpicks and tiny candy-cane shaped sprinkles, she put a heart on the snowman cookie...he liked that, and then he dumped all of the sprinkles and mini M&Ms onto the cookie. :rotfl:

Alas he can't eat them anymore b/c they have ingredients that turn him into a monster, but he really had fun making it! :goodvibes

The Woody show at Halloweentime was really cute, and Woody and Jesse came around to meet people, and had a line-up for meeting them more formally.

Oh, and Santa hangs out over in the petting zoo "cabin", but we didn't wait in THAT line, we went over to see the hang-loose Santa in DCA. :)

We have been while the petting zoo was open. My DD-8 loved it so we had to make MULTIPLE trips.

We also went 2 years ago while Santa was there. My DD was feeling a bit shy with Santa at first.

Very pretty all around for some good photo opportunities and several characters passing through the area too!

The cookie making was quite fun, as well as the little shows they put on.
