And why? Last summer while carting around the campground we saw some loops that were really wet and seemed like there was a ton of mosquitos hanging around. Is this still a problem in some of the loops?

We are camping for 7 nights starting April 18th. We have a premium site and have requested a pet loop.

Love to hear from my fellow Disers! :cool1:

But isn't the 300 loop preferred? I have a premium site. Just wondering.

PS I won't forget my fishing pole! :thumbsup2

We really liked loop 800, it has a nice dog walk area and you can walk to the marina and pool if you want too. From what I have read it is a premium pet loop now. Good luck with your trip.

That's right, 300 is preferred. I like 500 the best because it is a nice balance of being close enough to the Meadow recreation area and the marina/Trail's End/Hoop. It is right across the street from the dog park. It is close enough to the marina and Hoop to hear all the atmosphere without being right in the middle of it. It has bus routes on either side of the loop, so no matter where you are in the loop a stop is close by... and you can take whichever bus shows up first at the depot to get home! At Christmas 100-300 and 700 are heavily decorated and right next door. It has a CS on the loop, so you don't have to hike there (ala 600 and 700). I really loved my stay in 500. My second choice for Premium would be 400... it's just a bit further from the Meadow area.

I believe you are right, 300 is a preferred,,but it's my favorite.

Am I mistaken to think that the only difference tween a preferred and a premium is more concrete ? :confused3

Well,,, more concrete, new - square, 4 bench picnic tables, new grill with a cover. They really are nice sites - but I am partial to 300 for a preferred pet loop.

Any more - we only ask for full hook-up - which in recent trips has put us in 1900. Now that they've leveled the sites in 19 & added CaTV, I'm okay with it.

... and $10 a night! LOL

I think the overall sites are a bit more spacious too. Actually that seems to be the case everywhere, 100-300 seem more tightly packed than any other loop to me.

I just did some measuring:
Loop 300 (Preferred) has 61 sites along 1440 feet of road
  • 25 inside sites average 57.6' of frontage
  • 36 outside sites average 40' of frontage
Loop 500 (Premium) has 56 sites along 1480 feet of road:
  • 21 inside sites average 70.5' of frontage
  • 35 outside sites average 42.3' of frontage.
So, the sites in 500 have an average of 11% more frontage than 300. 100 and 200 seem even more snug to me, but I don't have time to do more calcs right now (more fun for another day! LOL)

Man I should probably keep my mouth shut, so my spot on my favorite loop won't be taken whenever I want to stay there, but I won't....
it's the 800 Loop. ;)
