Any big plans for Mother's Day? My sister is coming to town tomorrow--she and I will go to lunch and a movie with my mom. Sunday, my mom will go out to dinner somewhere with DH, DD, and I. I decided I don't feel like cooking that day.

I think I'm getting my mom a portable DVD player. She was fascinated with mine when she was in the hospital last week. I took it up there for her to use and she kept asking me how much one cost. :teeth:

My mom is in a nursing home, so my sister and I will be going there for their Mothers Day stuff tomorrow.
Sunday, I hope I can sleep in and not do anything!! But, I will probably get up and work around the house.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE!

I am getting a gift certificate to get my legs waxed!!! :cool1: I also want a purse and tank top from the Disney Store. DH is working OT and have sports and my work picnic this weekend, so I might not get them until Monday, but that will be o.k.

I think we are going to a restaurant w/ homecooked food (all you can eat) for dinner on Sunday w/ my mom and my ILs.

I guess I am spending Mother's day alone. DH has to work all day, DS (14) has a birthday party to go to. My Mother passed away over 10 years ago, so I can't even spend the day with her.

My MIL has passed away, and my mom lives 800 miles away. I don't know what DH and the girls have planned for me. Let's just say last year was a dud, and I think I spent most of the day feeling badly.

The girls have been talking a lot about the cards they have made for me, and DH keep saying he has some shopping to do, so I am sure this year will be much better.

I'm sorry about that. :grouphug: Maybe you could make it a day to pamper yourself? Just don't do anything that you don't want to do. Take yourself to a movie, out for a nice meal?

Happy Mother's Day--try to enjoy the day anyway.

I'm on deadline, so I'll be tied to my keyboard writing a feature about a band I don't even like. :(

I bought some steaks for DH to put on the grill. It will be a lazy day hanging out in the backyard with the kids (wishing we had a pool).

I don't know what DH has planned. We normally go up and visit out moms that live about hour and a half away. I started talking about it the other day. He just said "your a mom too and you have been for 7 years. I want to spend the day at home with you." We saw our moms last weekend for DS's birthday. But all I really know is that a Disney Shopping box came in the mail on Monday that he quickly ran away with.

We are gpomg tomorrow to a party for my grandma in Yuma Arizona. I have to be there by 11 am. I am looking forward to it just not so early, it will take awhile to get there from here.
And then on actual mothers day we are unwrapping our presents and then going to a late lunch at Joes Crab Shack. I has a playground for my kids and was a load of fun when we went last weekend.

Woo hoo! That sounds pretty interesting--you'll have to let us know what it is. :teeth:

I'll be hanging out under a blanket wishing we needed a pool :sad2:

My DM and DMI live 5 hours away so I won't be seeing them and I don't know what Dh and DDs have planned, but if it is anything like the last say 11 years, they won't know what they have planned until then either  .

I ask for the same thing every year:
Don't make me cook
Don't make me clean
Don't buy me a present, do some kind of project with the girls for me and don't wait until mother's day to decide what you are going to do and then fuss at me and tell me you didn't have time to do anything because I kept you busy the weekend before :furious:

I always ask my dh and kids "do you have anything planned?" They say no, so I find a concert or activity I'd like to go to. I like it that way!

We're going to an antique car show and big band concert on Saturday night and then out to brunch on Sunday after church. No surprises, I get to do a fun activity and not pretend I love something weird they thought I wanted (dh has a really weird track record with gifts). Everyone's happy - and if my kids aren't, they have to play nice at the concert because it's my present!

I had my "Mother's Day" today. Took myself - all alone to EPCOT for a few hours while DD was in school, and had such a wonderful time BY MYSELF. My own pace, with no one not wanting to do what I wanted to do (take pics!)

DD and I were going to EPCOT Mother's Day Brunch, but I decided that we had done that once, and it was really not worth the $$$.

We are going to MGM tomorrow and then probably finishing up DDs "MEXICO" project that is due on Monday!

First, we will be going to church. I am happy to be making dinner for my Mom and Dad in the afternoon...grilled chicken, sausage/onions/peppers, pasta and ceaser salads, almond pound cake with vanilla almond ice cream. My oldest will not make it, as he has medical school finals this coming week, but my second son comes home fom college tomorrow, :goodvibes and my DD 16 will be here. Looking forward to being with family, even with the rainy forecast. :)

Bloomsburg University Soccer Tournament. Starts Saturday at 6:30pm, ends Sunday at 4:00pm. If we make it home early, dinner at Conca Doro in Lanoka Harbor at 7:00pm. If later, China King take out and Sopranos at 9:00pm.

My son and daughter in law are taking me to lunch at Olive Garden and then for a shopping trip to the mall.

We are going to our cabin on the lake. Thats what MIL (who is the best MIL in the world!) wants to do and its supposed to be nice here so Im all for some lake time!! DH has been working crazy hours and we have not seen him at all the past few weeks so some family time is all I want. The lake is a bonus! :thumbsup2

The sweetpea has our day planned. She told me I have to rest all 4 Harry Potter DVDs. She is planning for us to watch all of them in a row while sitting on the couch in our jammies. Then she told me for dinner, I could order us pizza. I got a great kid.
