After taking my kids out of school for two weeks to go to WDW in December there is no way they can miss any more school for Disneyland trips. So we will be going in April, while they are out of school for "spring break."

Now a question for the "experts" who have gone at this time of year. Is it better to go for the Sunday of Easter and stay through midweek or go midweek after easter through Saturday? Is the park crowded on Easter Sunday?

Yes, the park is exceedingly crowded on ANY holiday, avoid going on Easter Sunday. Your best bet would be the week AFTER Easter, avoiding Easter Sunday. It will still be packed but not as bad as the holiday itself.

I know it is going to be busy that week (the week after Easter) but, what can you do?? :D

Do they "do" anything special for Easter? I am guessing not but I have not been to Disney at this time of year in over 20 years. At that time I remember some kind of egg hunt game - you would hunt for an egg and depending on the one you picked you would get a prize. I think I ended up with a free (Donald Duck) Orange Juice.
