So upset...

Op glad everything seems to be working it self out. I must say this is a good lesson for everyone to double check your package details when they send conformation. If you don't get one call til you do. They can also snail mail them.

Oh boo that stinks but I have to ask what is the difference with the deluxe dining plan, we have always gotten the regular one and it has been great. It's one quick service and one table service a day and I find it to be so much food and we are booked at mostly character dining's, unless your ADRs are booked at places that require you to use 2ts?

With a month to go, I understand how upset you must be. I hope it all works out and you have a great trip :) :)

I think you will be fine with the regular DP especially in the heat of August. You will probably find you want more cool snacks and drinks than a big heavy meal that the deluxe plan offers.

I found our last trip was more stressful because of the $10 pp cancellation policy on many adrs. We always cancel any, but before we might have cancelled a dinner in the morning if we didn`t feel like going to a particular park that day, but with the 1 day advance notice we felt like we were stuck. I think with 3 kids the deluxe dining is a lot. You will probably want to be more flexible.

Are any of your kids 10 and over "Disney Adults"? If so, I have a suggestion for you. People have suggested that you pay OOP for some meals, but I have a twist on that. You use credits for all of YOUR adult meals and your 9 and under kids meals, but pay OOP for some of the older kids meals. My DD enjoyed eating off the kids way more than the adult selections when she was 10-12, so we would pay OOP for her to eat off the kids menu and save her "disney adult" TS credit for a later meal. That way we could stretch our credits and eat more meals.

Okay-so this turned out to be the solution! We have an 11 year old who is the pickiest eater ever. I know full well that he would never eat anything off the adult menu. So-using his credits will allow us to pick up those other meals. Great tip!

As for the rest of them -y'all were right. Too much food. In the past the deluxe worked for us because our kids were always considered KIDS on the plan. So, definitely time to re figure. With swapping out a couple-we worked it out.

If you look at the fact that most character meals are buffets-that's were disney makes so much money. At those meals you have no choice as to how the kids eat - so the picky 11 year old gets charged as the adult.

Totally good idea. I'll never make THAT mistake again.

:-)

Hi! The deluxe is three table services per day. We have used a lot of the credits on 2ts, which was why is used to be a better deal for us (and the number of kids we have).

Yay! I'm glad I could help :). Just to make things clear, your 11-year old will still be charged as an adult for buffets, dinner shows, and single priced meals like CRT and 'Ohana. It's the regular TS meals where a separate kids menu is offered where you can use that trick (like Kona, Coral Reef, 50's Prime Time, etc). La Hacienda and Marrakesh have shown an unwillingness to provide children's menus to those over 9 years old.
