So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

We've never seen it! SO I will keep it in the plans. I know we would love it.

Next question -candlelight processional - day 7 of trip - am I cramming too much by taking in Le Cellier for late lunch, CP at 5p, dinner at Cape May's at 6:30p and then back for Illuminations at 9:30? We will have been here all day - we love the Epcot rides - worried about not getting to see much in WS which we would hit after lunchtime... am I overthinking? :rolleyes1 My biggest draw (and I'm sure this sounds dumb) to the CP package is preferred fireworks viewing at Epcot... Thoughts? Opinions? :confused3

I think I'm overthinking - because if we enjoy the rides that morning before lunch, go to WS until CP show, then I think we will have seen a great deal of WS before we go to CP and dinner at the Beach Club...

I think if you say you think you are over thinking... you just may be. course..this is coming from me who is the QUEEN of over thinking and second guessing. (at least I think I do ;))

Seriously though, that is a lot to cram in... but.. I have not the experience with CP to know if it is feasible. My guess is that Cape May and CP are too close together. I wonder if you have dinner just a tad later? I think you could then still get back for Illuminations. If I were you, I might just go with a really late lunch and skip dinner...maybe have a snack or split some qs in between CP and illuminations.

Great thing is... you have some time to decide. :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 Definitely I'm an overthinker... yesterday morning, enjoying the day off from work, I captured DH on the back porch, brought him a cup 'o joe and said "Let's talk Disney." :lmao:

SO after hashing that day out in our minds... we are going to skip the CP this year. Save it for another time. He wants the extra time in the park and not tied down to that detailed of a schedule and I'm okay with that. :thumbsup2

We will still go to Cape May Cafes' for dinner and head back for Illuminations which I think by that point in the day, we will be ready for down time at Epcot. Dinner, and walk back and find good seats for Illuminations.

I so appreciate your input and honesty! Feel really good about our decision. :goodvibes

Brief update!!!

All I have to say today is

199 DAYS!!!

So happy to leave the 200's!!! :woohoo:

I love that your "captured" your dh. I know I have to do that too. Course, the best I get is "I don't care" when I ask for his input.

I am really wondering about the CP dp. I mean.. it will take 2 ts credits and you are right... won't it demand quite a bit of the day to be devoted to it? I want to see the CP.. but just not sure how to fit it in. (and here is where I am over thinking :sad2:)

Ann... I honestly think you are out of the 200's, too! Or are you pushing back leaving after the 16th of December? I do know you are close! :thumbsup2

I don't know the right answer on CP either... I know I would love it - I'm just not sure my kids and DH would love it... I think DH feigned interest in the beginning because he knows I would love it. :lovestruc However, when I asked him if he would feel like he missed something if we didn't do it... he looked at me and said "Two words - orchestra and choir... do you think I'll feel like I missed something?" :lmao:

So I'm going to save it for another time. I promised myself we would RELAX and take our time this go-around. After I finally made that decision with myself, I felt really happy with the decision! :goodvibes

I wonder :scratchin you must be right. I think are tickers are reading close. It confused me. But no... you are arriving on 12/16... and we are most likely going to arrive before that. I am pretty sure we may bump it up..but then again, maybe not.

"Two words - orchestra and choir... do you think I'll feel like I missed something?"

:rotfl2: I had not thought of it like that. I am thinking my dh and ds might not appreciate it in the same way I would.

Thanks to Ann (annmarieda) I'm starting this game! It's fun!! The game? Where in WDW. I will use pictures from past trips. To make this more interesting... How about we tally points? Then at the end (maybe in the fall some time) I can send something fun to the winner? Immediate family would not be eligible to play (so Kira - you can play this one!) Points would be awarded in three categories with the first person to answer correct in each category claiming that point. In theory, first person to answer could get all three or only one.
1. What area in WDW (ie MK, AK, DTD a resort etc.)
2. Specifically where the setting is (ie. in front of the castle, the line of x ride etc.)
3. Who/what is in the picture (ie. the subject of the photo)

So if I shared a picture of the castle (no people in the picture)the answer might look like this:

1. MK
2. Central Park Hub or gateway to Fantasyland
3. Cinderella's Castle.

Here we go!!! I will try to go easy on the first one...

Yay!!! :woohoo:

ok, so my guess is....

In MK, just past the castle gate with Cinderella's fairy godmodmother, Erin, Nolan and Naton

:thumbsup2 You are correct! Ann gets all 3 points! And one bonus point for getting Naton's name right! :goodvibes He gets called Nathan a lot because his nickname is Nate.

:woohoo:

I wondered about Naton's name. I thought I might have mistaken Naton for Nathon.

This picture was taken from our May/June 2009 trip. DH and I thought we would surprise DD with breakfast at CRT. We knew she would love it and also knew the boy's would downplay it because they are 'manly boys.' :rotfl:

When we got to the MK, we walked to CRT and Erin kept saying "What are we doing? You said we weren't going to be able to do this...what are we doing? MOM! You said you couldn't get a reservation....Mom! Do we get to go here??? Someone pleeeeease telll me!" SO the surprise was successful - everyone had their pic made with Cinderella, received their swords and magic wand and wishing stars... met the princesses... and the boys LOVED EVERY SECOND! :goodvibes It was a great breakfast... so you can imagine our joy when we walk out from breakfast and find the fairy godmother tucked away, alone, no lines... walked right up to her and got several good pics and of course the autograph. :goodvibes

Oh great, yet another game started on your thread and I am behind on that too! Dang end of school year and beginning of summer school...:rotfl:

I am also trying to plan around CP that will not be released probably for another couple of months! It is on the top of my list of things to do...the reason for the season! But trying to plan around it certainly is not making my life easy.

Praying for the tornados to stop and us to get some rain...what a crazy spring this has been!

It has been the craziest spring! If you hang around for a few more minutes on here... I'm getting ready to post the next pic! Here's to a less busy summer for you!!! :goodvibes BOOOO on summer school! :lmao: I've got two more weeks on my current class... then get a 3 week break and then back at it! :thumbsup2 I just keep chanting in my head "DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY!!"

This one might be kind of hard.... and as a pre-clause... my hair is NOT this short anymore! :lmao: AND we are really BIG so someone please tell me how to edit these pictures down!! :confused3 Can I crop in photobucket??

That is you and Eddie...maybe waiting for a bus in one of the depots? (Did I spell that right?)

Summer School...yep stinks pretty bad for me...I am the lead teacher at an unfamiliar campus that is ESL in addition to Billingual...which I am neither. Today I put 3 on a bus they did not belong on...tomorrow we start breakfast and lunch services. I keep telling myself DISNEY MONEY, DISNEY MONEY...only 21 more summer school, days...1 down! :rotfl: DISNEY MONEY, DISNEY MONEY

Okay - I do believe we have a new revised plans... here they are... the only deviation away from this would be not being able to get a specific ADR, and so forth...

Day 1
Something new... after talking to the IPO at the Polynesian quite a bit about DH coming off of our 'package' we realized that transportation to and from the airport for him would not be Magical Express... so I asked for their recommendations and here's what we came up with. SINCE I'm going to be flying with the children by myself (I'm not skeered, btw ;)) and we would be better off to collect our own luggage (we land at 9:45 pm) then I came to the conclusion I would prefer to take a car to the resort and not lug 3 kids and luggage back through the airport. SO they are going to arrange a car to pick us up at baggage and we will get to the resort within half an hour after we collect our luggage. WORTH EVERY PENNY TO ME to be there by 10:30ish. And then, they will send the same car to pick up DH when he arrives. We will also use their transportation back to the airport on departure day since he can't 'do the bus' which is fine with me because now I think we could do a breakfast ADR that morning since we won't have to leave for the airport as early if we were on the ME bus. WHEW - that was a lot to spit out!

Day 2
Hollywood Studios
Breakfast - concierge lounge
Lunch - Starring Rolls
Dinner - Sci Fi Drive In - the kids love this place... :confused3 Hope to get an adr around 4pm.
Head back to the poly and be there by 9 to catch the water pageant and Wishes! :goodvibes

Day 3
Magic Kingdom
Breakfast - Crystal Palace - I picked this because I hope to get an 8 a.m. ADR and be in the park before it opens to get some good pictures in an empty park!
Lunch - Columbia Harbour House
Dinner - 1900 Park Fare - looking for a 4 p.m. ADR so we can get back to MVMCP! My goal is to have 'done it all' during the day at MK so we can truly enjoy what the party has to bring - character hunting, dancing with the characters, parade, fireworks... looking for a fun low-key evening - well, as low key with thousands of people you can be... :lmao:

Day 4
Animal Kingdom
Breakfast - concierge lounge
Lunch and Dinner we are leaving to 'chance.' Counter service meals - but my main goal on this day is to see Festival of the Lion King. Haven't seen it... we can have a slow paced day in this park since we will return with DH and I imagine we will eat at our resort.
Also toying with the possibility of doing EMH at MK later that evening if we aren't too tired. If not, we can relax at the poly, catch the water pageant and fireworks from the beach area again... one of my favs about the Polynesian and WDW! :cloud9:

Day 5
Epcot in the morning - hope to hit rope drop!
Breakfast - concierge
Lunch - Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Dining - hope to get a 2 p.m. ADR after lunch we will 'do whatever' at DHS until time to go to Fantasmic - main purpose of this day. I am also hoping to see the Osborne Lights, as well. This I know the least about, so far! :confused3
Be back to resort for DH's arrival by 10:30 p.m. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Day 6
Back to Animal Kingdom for the day!
Breakfast - Tusker House - shooting for 8 a.m. ADR. It's also morning EMH so this might be a crazy morning for us but we are going to do it anyway! DH loves Tusker House so it's a must do. :thumbsup2
Since AK closes at 6, we are shooting for an ADR at Boma's at 6:00 p.m. Beat the crowd out of the park and head to a resort we've never seen for dinner! :) And we should be back to our resort in plenty of time to hang out on the beach to catch the night time favorite - WISHES! So relaxing to end the day this way! :cloud9:

Day 7
Epcot - hit rope drop! :goodvibes
We will tour this park pretty hard!
Breakfast - concierge lounge EARLY to make rope drop.
Lunch - Sunshine Seasons
Dinner - Cape May Cafe - would like an ADR for about 6:30 p.m. That way we can get back to get good seats for Illuminations. We are forgoing the CP as I said earlier. I'm truly okay with it! Something to look forward to next time! :thumbsup2

Day 8
Magic Kingdom - our final FULL day and it's predicted to be CROWDED so we will just go with the flow. I really think we will try out the touring plans for our final 3 days - mostly to work in what DH hasn't gotten to do that the kids and I will have done before he arrived.
Dinner - O'hana's - we love this place and it's a nice break from the park after the parade and then back for the evening.
Considering, after Wishes, if we aren't just exhausted, going back to Epcot for evening EMH to re-ride the beloveds there... since we will fly home the next day... :sad1:

Day 9
Not sure... need to talk to DH. Would like to go to Whispering Canyon for a breakfast ADR. We have never been in this resort and I would like to see it at the holidays. :goodvibes But we may be ready to just take it easy making sure we are 'packed up' and ready to go.

Our flight leaves at 1 pm - what do you all think? Could we do an early ADR, like at 8:30 and be back for check out and head to airport by 10:30? :santa:

That is you and Eddie...maybe waiting for a bus in one of the depots? (Did I spell that right?)

Summer School...yep stinks pretty bad for me...I am the lead teacher at an unfamiliar campus that is ESL in addition to Billingual...which I am neither. Today I put 3 on a bus they did not belong on...tomorrow we start breakfast and lunch services. I keep telling myself DISNEY MONEY, DISNEY MONEY...only 21 more summer school, days...1 down! :rotfl: DISNEY MONEY, DISNEY MONEY

Tammie - you get 1 point for knowing it was Eddie and I! :goodvibes

Not a bus... I will give a hint -definitely in a park... which one and where?

Off topic - If you've followed my report from the beginning then you know I had an injured foot. I just want to share that I've begun my running this week, day 2 was today, and it's doing GREAT! I'm so happy! This was a huge concern for me - HUGE fear that it would inhibit my ability to enjoy WDW! :goodvibes And of course, help me continue on my goal to better health before I'm <ahem> 40.... :scared1: So weird to even say that... :rotfl:

But I'm in good company! WDW turns 40 this year and so does Starbucks! :woohoo:
