This is my battle scar. The mark that saved my life. I didn't know if any of you wanted to see it, but I'm putting it out there.
You can make any remarks you want, I don't care. I know it's long (8 1/2 inches) I know it's gross, I know it's purplish, and I know there's a dot at the end. (From the drain in my leg to prevent hemmhorraging)

Here it is:

First of all, I don't think it's gross at all. It just reminds me how proud I am of you, Sonya!

I would love to say more, but I can't find the words. I'm just so proud of you and how strong you are (even though you might not think it.)

I'm so proud of you too Sonya. Your such a strong person, and I admire that so much about you.

Haha, oh gee...I hope that didn't sound weird.

Don't be embarrassed or anything by it. I admire you, you are so incredibly strong!

i don't see the photo.

you should never be embarrassed our self conscious about scars. (and saying this, i have three long lacerations decorating my left thigh, and one crossing my stomach)

people are going to ask questions about them. i can promise you that much.

but i can promise you something else.
it will fade.

but it will never completely go away.

but i can also promise, you'll never want it to.

I cant see it, but judging from your description you should wear that scar loud and proud! You survived, and all that you have to show for it is one little 8 1/2 inch scar, that is incredible!

what happened?
oh wait, is this from surgery?

and the pic didn't show up

I saw the pic last night but fell asleep before i could comment lol (the pic isn't showing up now)

But what a scar! My mom has a scar similar to that down her stomach from a surgery she had almost 10 years ago.

I personally love all my scars. Mind you, I have none that compare to yours, but I really like them, they make me different from everyone else and they all tell a story.
It's like a tattoo that no one else has.

It doesn't look gross at all...I think it looks kinda cool. :goodvibes
Don't be embarassed.

yep. the pictures show up now. And its not an ugly scar, at all, dont be self conscious.

I think of scars as memories.
Your scar is a reminder that you beat cancer.
You BEAT CANCER. That scar should just be looked at as a testament to your strength, and that you now know you can conquer anything.

Honestly, I really don't think it looks gross at all.

I wouldn't be worried about how people will think about it or how they will react. It is a beautiful memory of what you have overcome and how strong of a person you are. Don't worry, be happy:)

congrats!

yours looks like mine, only longer.

hopefully, yours wont turn yellow-ish like mine (i had knee surgery about 2 summers ago)

Thank you. It's kinda hard to look at everyday, knowing I don't have that part of my body anymore. My 'mind' misses it and obviously my body misses it, but I thank my lucky ducks my body hasn't rejected it and had an infection begin.

It actually was yellow. It look like I'd bruised my scar, and it was gross. Mine looks alot better than they boys'. Theirs are much longer, swirves alot, and is darker. They have little dots down the side of it from the staples to close it up.

Oh, and when people ask me what happened to my leg?
"I fought off a Great White."
;) :teeth:

sonya, thats really not that bad of a scar. it'll be hardly noticeable in a few years. (trust me, i know lots about scar tissue. lol)

and with my scars i usually say i got them wrestling a bear.

I have scars all over my legs. Guess what? I got them from my bug bites. I have an allergic reaction so they r really itchy and i get scars from itching them too much.
