and turned my dogs into little gluttons! I've fed my terriers Purina O.N.E. for three generations of dogs - twenty years of brand loyalty here. I orignally got onto it b/c the vet told me it was basically the same as IAMS. But now, they've added "meaty morsels" to the kibble.
My dogs are in love with the morsels to the point of picking them out of the bowl and leaving the kibble. Oh, eventually they'll eat the kibble, but not until hours later, when they're sure no more "meaty morsels" are coming their way. And of course, they're now not getting a full meal at one time. And if I add more food to the bowl, they go right back to being little morsel piggys. They're also trying to do end runs on each other and sneak the morsels out of both bowls when the other dog is occupied elsewhere. It would be funny if it...well, it is funny.
But it's also not working for me. So I'm going to switch to another brand of dry dog food that's just plain old dry dog food. I know there are plenty of dog owners who swear by fancy, expensive vet brand food. But there must be others whose dogs eat perfectly good kibble that comes in a big bag from Walmart. Something without a lot of fillers, that results in nice, small, firm, um, "stuff" to scoop, and that creates a healthy, happy dog.
So for those of you who feed good, but not super-high-end dry dog food, what do you feed your dogs?
