At my school, and you're supposed to dress up, and everyones taking it too seriously, so I decided to goof it up a bit

I'm thinking of wearing this dress :

with red earings and a red necklace (they came as a set) and red+black bracelets

these shoes :

this hat :

and black lipstick

with red fingernails to match



so...
what do ya think?

Should I go with that or something else?
Any ideas?

The shoes are from the brand of Keds, and are extremely comfortable. Its like walking on marshmallows (minus the sticky part)

Same with the dress, its "Iz byer california" but its realllly comfortable. (because the top part is really soft and stretchy so it fits any style of curves that you have)

i really love the idea of the red or black lipstick.i like either because it can be done both right and wrong.

another idea instead of the hat (if you wanted another option) is some really funky cool eye make up.

I'm sorry, if you came to one of my school dances like that I'd probably laugh/be pissed at you.
Harsh, I know, but I really can't stand that outfit. It you take away the lipstick and the hat then it would be decent. I third the red lipstick and black nails idea - then, IMO, you're "normal" but still your own. If you went with the hat and black lipstick I'd think you'd belong in a looney house.

And honestly? Who cares about what other people think?

1. It's clothes. Pieces of fabric that will, one day, end up in a dump somewhere. There are worse things in life to get embarrassed about.
2. It's a school dance. Not a fancy ball at a 5 star restaurant.
3. This is about you, not us or anyone else. If you want to wear it (INCLUDING THE HAT), wear it.

And even with the hat, your making a statement. If anyone starts to be a freak about it, just smile and wave.

And remember! It's the people that think OUTSIDE the box and aren't all "MUST BE THIS WAY" that are remembered the most. Like those people...that went on the subway with no pants on.

I dunno, it drives me INSANE when people don't dress appropriately for events. Girls who wore short dresses to prom gave me a headache, same with guys wearing anything but tuxes/suits. There are enough beautiful non-tacky long dresses out there that everyone could find something they like.

I dunno, if it's just a dumb like "SPRING FEVER" dance then go for it. If it's supposed to be formal, I think it'd be really immature to wear that outfit.

The outfit itself...the shoes don't match the dress. The hat is dumb. I'd go red lipstick as well.

I'm wondering if i should go with the idear of wearing red eye shadow, or..
this one girl in my class wears red eye liner (although it always looks like her eyes are bleeding) it might be neat looking with this outfit)

Yeah, the more I think about it the more i like the red lipstick. I just found my black lipstick and i wanna wear it somewhere. I'll find somewhere.. within no time.

Everyones at school is making a HUGE deal about it...

"I'm going to buy a beauttifful evening gown and a new coach bag to go with!"

and of course i'm just going to take a simple dress that i wear to church and try to spice it up.

It's middle school...i could caree less about spending money on a completely brand new dress.


Another idea was to go to a thrift shop and go through their dresses there. (because i LOVE thrift shops and for such an occasion, buying a completely new dress is absolutely bonkers..in my opinion at least)
