So, tell me... is there still a problem with the party crashers??

My family and I take a Disney vacation about every other year

But the last time we went to the MVMCP was in 2007 and there was a real issue with guests staying for the party that did not pay for the extra ticket
I saw guests without the wrist bands, getting on rides, and ignoring the cast members when they asked them to see their bands
and then laughing about how they got away with it.

It was very irritating, which I'm sure a lot of you have seen firsthand also
Please tell me it's gotten better. Do they clear out the park to get ready for the party, and then let only ticketed guests in?
I know they did it this way in the past

We are going back this Nov and we've already ordered our party tickets
Thanks in advance ! :)

They do not clear the park as they once did. In my experience (5 parties), CMs are very strict about clearing the park of non-wristband-wearing guests. For instance, they cannot proceed further into the park one 7:00p hits, they are escorted out from ADRs that go beyond 7:00p, they are not allowed to purchase items after 7:00p, and some report they are not even allowed into restrooms. I have seen extremely few crashers successfully avoid CMs for long.

Great to know ~ Thx :goodvibes

Last time we were there they were going down the row of people checking for wristbands. We were checked several different times that night.

Last year at MNSSHP my band was never checked once. We got in line for seven dwarfs at 6...was never checked while we were in line or when we got up to the front to take pictures. By the time we got out of line; the wristband checking CMs that were stationed by the new fantasyland (we could see them from the Seven dwarfs line) had left. I had paid for a ticket and had a wristband but it was under my sleeve and not visible unless someone had asked; which no one did. I wasn't trying to hide it or anything; it was just under my long sleeve shirt. So it seems like people easily could have still been there who didn't have tickets? Which is not cool because those tix are not cheap!!!!

It has been a couple of years since we did the Christmas party, but the CMs were very efficient at turning those without wristbands towards the exit. I didn't notice anyone successfully crashing. It could have happened I guess, but if it did happen it wasn't obvious and didn't impact our ability to basically walk on every ride we wanted to that night.

I don't know how the CM's can check all of those bracelets!! It seems like it would be easier to empty out the park......and then allow the party folk to reenter immediately!!

But then you would have all the party-goers entering at the same time. By allowing party goers to start entering at 4:00, it spreads out their arrivals. And I can't imagine it's that difficult to check for wrist bands - just look at people's wrists or if they're wearing long sleeves, ask them to push up their sleeves.

I was there for MNSSHP last Oct and it was POURING rain. For a long time. And the CMs were out there in their rain ponchos checking for bands in many different places. It was a pain to stop in the rain when we were trying to hurry to the next attraction and get out of the rain, but I appreciate how hard they tried to make sure everyone who was there was supposed to be.

The last party I went to (2012), our bands were checked about 15 times between 7 and 7:30. Not just at candy stations, rides, and characters but just as we were walking there were TONS of CMs just walking around saying "wrist bands". I felt like I might as well walk around with my arm up continually. But I appreciated the effort.

We went to a party in late September 2012 and we weren't asked to show our bands but, we all had on short sleeve shirts and our bands were very visible.

We did however, witness many others being asked to show their bands so, I have no doubt CMs were checking regularly.

Personally, I would gladly show my band countless times a night if it meant that Disney was making sure only those who paid were attending the party. It would irritate me to no end if I knew people were cheating the system and staying for a party they didn't pay for. It lessens the enjoyment of those who did pay when others try to cheat the system like that.

We were at a MNSSHP party in September last year. At 7 pm, the cms blocked off the entrances to the lands from Main Street and you had to show your band to proceed further. They also blocked the doors to the shops and again you had to show your band to go into the shops. I think they did a fantastic job ushering those without tickets out of the park.

I attended MNSSHP twice last year. Between the 2 nights, I was probably asked to show my bracelet a good 50-60 times. And I witnessed many people being escorted out. In my opinion they now take the party crashers very seriously.

I have no desire to go to a Disney "party" though I am interested in some of the food and wine events. I don't quite understand however why whether someone else has crashed the party would have any effect whatsoever on my level of enjoyment. Perhaps I'm missing something but why should what anyone else does affect my enjoyment level unless the amount of crashers make it too crowded I guess.

I haven't done the parties yet, but crashers would affect my enjoyment by:
1) making me feel I had been ripped off if I paid (a lot!) for something it turns out I could have just stayed in the park & not paid
2) if it was widespread it would make attractions more crowded, thus reducing the value of what I bought
3) I'm a rule follower! It just irks the heck out of me when others think the rules don't apply to them!

As I said I can understand #2 . As for #1 and #3...well all I can say ....omg life is way too short for me to worry about what anyone else is doing but if it floats your boat go for it . I personally could care less what anyone else is doing unless it has some sort of effect on my level of enjoyment. re" 1 ...I would feel badly staying in the park without paying if it was a special event...that would affect me.....re # 3...all I can say is wow !

We went to MVMCP the first week of December last year. There were lines of CMs on the bridges and all over that were checking for bracelets. They aren't rude about it but the message is obvious: If you didn't pay to be here, you aren't welcome.

Ummm, yeah. It's really not that serious. #2 is a good point but it would have to be widespread. If #3 is true then you should feel good about yourself and #1 shouldn't matter since being a rule follower you could never stay in the park without paying.

Last year (we were at 7 parties between Halloween and Christmas) the CM's were very strict about enforcing this. Just a few things we noticed.

From 6pm, announcements were made through the park that the Magic Kingdom would be closing at 7pm to day guests. This announcement was made several times up to 7pm. At 7pm, an announcement was made that the party had commenced and those without tickets needed to head for the exit.

CM's were placed around the Hub. Once it was 6:45pm, no one was allowed past the Hub from Main St if they didn't have wrist bands.

CM's were placed at the entrance of each land, checking bands from 7pm. No band, you were asked to leave.

CM's were checking for bands as people started to line up for the parade. No band, you were asked to leave or escorted out.

CM's were checking for bands just before Hallo/Holiday Wishes. No band, you were asked to leave.

CM's were places at the entrance of the main gift shops and counter service. No band, you weren't allowed in. At 6:45pm, CM's were telling people inside the stores that if they didn't have a party ticket, they needed to complete transactions from 7pm otherwise they weren't allowed to put them through. After 7pm, no one with a ticket was served. You couldn't buy party merchandise without a ticket (some stores had it out before 7pm)

CM's were escorting people out of the park after their ADR's if they didn't have a party band. We saw this from BOG, Crystal Palace and CRT.

CM's were placed at each bathroom after 7pm. If you didn't have a band, you weren't allowed in. You could access one bathroom without a band, which was on Main St near Guest Services. After this, you were escorted out of the park.

CM's were checking bands at all rides. You weren't allowed to line up or ride without a band.

CM's were checking character lines from 6:45pm for anyone without a band. We saw someone was asked to leave the Merida line at MNSSHP at 6:50pm as she didn't come out until after 7pm.

They were very strict about it (as they should be)
