So surprised! Waitlist came through!

Booked a 1 bedroom at VWL (our home) at 11 months for March 31st-April 6th, Easter Week. Was really excited to change to BLT at 7months. Got a lakeview room at the time. I waitlisted for a standard view then because the points for Easter week were killing me. I've been checking off and on on the website to see if I might catch a cancellation. I log in tonight and just happen to notice that I suddenly have more points in my account. Our standard view waitlist came through. I thought it was strange that I wasn't notified. I said something to DH and he said, "oh, I think I got a email from them earlier today." Strange that they would email him, because I usually get all the dvc emails. Anyway, I'm really happy about using less points, and being a family of five, I'm excited about the sleeper chair and extra bathroom!

My 1br standard just came through for april too. Must be some crazy post Christmas cancelling going on. There are still more standards available now.

Just some other food for thought....We were split stay at BLt & AKV standard....Then was able to get split stay at AKV standard & value...Our waiylist came through roughly 3 weeks ago and got an 8 day AKV studio value for all 8 nights ....It's unbelievably gratifying when things work in your favor....And the amount of points we saved from begining to end is ridiculous...

We now will possibly be able to go to VGC next Apr. & possibly another trip later on during F&W.

I think we saved around 30 points by changing from lakeview to standard, but in my mind that's a couple of extra nights in a studio if the girls and I can squeeze an extra trip in this summer. And of course with the new PAP's I bought last week at a discount, I'm all about thinking of how many trips I can take with them!

My waitlist for a standard room in October 2013 also came through late last week.

There was some overlap/questions MS had for me so they called me.

During our chat, it was explained to me that they were not able to implement the change in the number of BLT standard rooms available for 2013 in the computer system until Jan. 1, 2013 (although they could downward adjust the availability of Theme Park view rooms). Therefore, all the BLT standard rooms were unreserved until the change was made. Apparently they were manually honoring wait lists for January and February late last year. Now, all rooms are in the system so there was a flood of waitlists granted.

So... that would likely explain all the good news folks have been getting recently regarding waitlists of BLT standard rooms.

Hope that explanation makes sense.
