My family should be on the Wonder Cruise right now. We made reservations a year in advance and the day before we were suppose to leave my Father passed away. He was a WWII Veteran and was buried on Memorial Day. He had a beautiful service. Thank goodness we had bought travel insurance. My children were so upset to loose their Paw Paw and the trip. We were able to transfer our reservations. We are having to downsize to a 3 night, go from a Catagory 4 to a 5 and having to pay $963 more. We took what was available. If not,we would have had to wait another year, because of school. Oh well, things happen. We're now looking forward to our June Disney Cruise.

It's a heartache to loose a parent, always think of my departed Dad on Memorial Day (also a WWII vet, naval gunner). Can't compare the loss of a family member to a cancelled vacation, but it's a really good thing you got the insurance. Hope your rebooked cruise this summer will help heal your pain.

My father is also nearing the end of a long battle with cancer but I know I will still not be prepared when he goes.

Maybe you could take something of his with you on your trip in June so that a piece of him can share in the 'wonder's of life with you.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. We too just recently lost my Grandfather a fellow WWII vet and the pain is still so fresh. I hope that you and your family are able to enjoy your rescheduled cruise. We've never sailed on the Wonder, but spent a fabulous honeymoon on the Magic and I'm sure that it will be a nice diversion for all of you!

You can take a small American Flag with you on the Cruise, and Plant it in front of your chair on Castaway Cay, in honor of Paw Paw
