I woke up this morning and realized this may be my last day trip up to WDW before our Season's Passes go on "vacation" from June 12th till August... Was thinking of visiting US/IOA today but when I realized WDW time was ticking away I figured we needed to get our fill of Disney Magic...

I know just what you mean! It used to be easy to just put it out of mind, but now that I've found the Dis it has become so much harder. I drop by the boards just about everyday to see what others are posting and now I'm thinking of upgrading to the annual pass from my seasonal one. And I don't even like going in the summer! It's a bummer knowing soon I will not be able to go. I'm just gonna have to tough it out.

I'm afraid you won't find much sympathy here from those of us who live MUCH FURTHER AWAY from the most special place on earth!! :p Be grateful you can go so often...... that is but a dream for most of us!.................P

Amen to that. ;) :p

It's not easy living with the knowledge that so many of my fellow Disers are at work, far away, while I go. The guilt is overbearing! But I always make a point of pouring out some of my pop on the ground in honor of all my Dis homies who couldn't make it.;)

Tizi - What a brave soul you are. Thank you for the kind gesture, when I am at work I'll think of you at the HM say hi for me.

I was just trying to figure out how to squeeze in one more trip myself ....

I agree!! But on the other hand if I lived so close I would be tempted to go all the time. I would probably be there way too much I would end up neglecting my other responsibilities. I guess it's better to be further from my obsession.:)

I agree. At least this way, I only take a few hours from work to reivew the boards. If I lived there, I would be calling in sick all the time and then not be able to afford to go because I would loose my job.

We are a little further away-Miami about 4 hours or so depending on how fast we drive and how many bathroom breaks we take -but I also feel your pain at the blackout dates approaching. Every year it is so sad but I think this year will be different. My DH (who might go 1 in 6 trips my DD(5) and I take) actually wants to go in July?!! I usually avoid going in the summer because of crowds and heat but hey if he insists on upgrading us to AP's who am I to argue right? Maybe I can convice him to let DD and I go in June and take care of the upgrading then to save the hassle of July crowds.
;)
Does anyone know if I just pay the difference in pass prices or are they pro-rated in some way? My renewal date is not until the end of November 2004.

I'm not sure, but, I think you must pay the difference in prices. I've never upgraded before and it seems that is what I was told once, when I asked this. I may be wrong though. It wouldn't be the first time.

Don't worry - -if you get COMPLETELY crazy you can just buy a 1-day pass to your favorite park... Or even just spend a day "resort-hopping" and having some meals. If I lived close to WDW, I would figure out a way to be there, blackout dates or NOT! :)

That's why we are headed there this weekend and have a trip planned for Labor Day weekend (and Thanksgiving) .

If you upgrade, they charge you the full amount of the diff between SP and AP, and the pass will still exp in November... ours do in Nov as well and we were told the same thing.

OK thanks. That is what I figured but thought I would ask. Another questio if anyone knows. If you have an AP but want to renew with just a Fla seasonal can you do that or do you just get the Fla seasonal brand new. We do not usually go in the summer or the other blackout dates so I do not see us keeping the AP next year. Thanks!

But someday, (please spread pixie dust), I will! I will save whatever I don't spend on my annual trips from NY-Mickey towards retiring in Orlando.....but i guess I will have to retire early enough so I can still enjoy having annual/seasonal resident passes... Why is it so expensive to live in NY anyway? The state government doesn't do more for me than Mickey! I'd rather pay my taxes to the mouse...I'll be quiet now. Sorry for the outburst.
