Now that the tomorrowland 8-9 has been a prize, what do you think its worth? I highly doubt inferno, but hey you never know.

It was worth inferno before, and I have one, but I think I just lost all the value to my name I have ever earned... I can't stop crying, I got nothing in the competition, this was a huge waste and right now I really wish I had a broken computer to smash... I went from having a pin worth inferno to having pretty close to nothing...

It's pixels. Trust me, I understand the angst behind it all, but not to that degree. It's pixels. Try to remember that.

I recently traded stitch stuff (not the hat) for 8/9, so I'm hating it, too. But I also got a HM clock for a green throne about a week before they came back out as a POTC treasure chest prize. Stuff gets rereleased. It will be the case over and over again. Green flips and stitch are the only things Yavn said was safe. Remember when they came out with all the red beta last Christmas? All the Day One peeps were furious.

Devaluation of rare stuff is a regular event in VMK. That's yet another reason to never trade a bazillion great things for one rare item. There may come a day when Sparrow suits are common. Or inferno comes out buyable for 50,000 credits or something.

Remember, it's all just make-believe.

I understand how you could be upset, but honestly Lion. You have been on VMK a long, long time and I'm sure you are much more well-off than that Guest in the Esplanade wondering how to get credits so that they can afford a cute Santa Hat they have been looking at. You always seem to be able to beat me on trade threads too, look at it that way.

I think you're being a bit selfish, the players got to enjoy your ride, and that is what this competition is supposed to be about; the creativitiy on a new, awesome track.

And like Dreams says, its just pixels. Take a deep breath.. and relax What comes around goes around, my friend.

Interesting post Sparky. I was also a bit upset when my room didn't win a prize in the competition, but i got over it pretty quickly. Another thing; while the tomorrowland (8/9) pin may have been worth inferno, pretty sure no one valued it as such. I am not sure of the value of the pin now, but it looks pretty on my lanyard :

I am sorry that you are upset Lion, it happens to everybody. Just think of the people who had blue, light blue, orange, yellow black and purple rockets. That seems like it would be awful, since orange, yellow , black and purple rockets were really rare. Then they wake up, log on VMK and - Bam! - their really rare rockets suddenly turn into things you can buy without denting your credits wallet too much. I'm not saying that is worse than the pin thing, just saying that it happens to everyone.


While the re-releasing thing is a bit of a problem, it is not the worst problem in the world, nor even VMK. Things such as selling items and credits on eBay,
and stealing things from people on VMK, are much worse problems since if things like that continue, there may be no VMK, or ( and it seems almost worse, Almost...) there would not be a trade function in VMK. And if that happens, i know a lot of people would quit VMK and then it probably would cease being profitable for VMK to keep it open, since they have to pay moderators, hosts, and testers. I am not saying that Lion's problem is not a big one, just a bit minor compared to other problems. I do hope that VMK continues to grow, and thrive, and that they don't take away our trade function.

8/9's trade value CRASHED with this contest....

On the upside those who needed it to get closer to their goal of every pin in VMK are tickled, becasue they either won it or now have a decent chance of getting it without 3 trade windows full of stuff....

As far as Lion's comment on getting NOTHING out the ride contest... all i have to say is you entered into it for all the wrong reasons... I make my rooms for the joy of making them. Period. Yes I had hopes that I would win, but for me the building of the ride is the real prize.... It was fun, challenging, and I got to express myself with a new kind of art form... On top of that people rode it!!!! That is a huge thrill!!!
