Headed to Universal Studios this weekend (shhh... don't tell DD she won't know until we hit the airport) and although we planned the trip awhile back we didn't make plans until today. And in all honesty our "plans" are suggestions but after reading that non-hotel guests will not get into HP we decided that US is prolly more for us. (And at $300 a night for a hotel room we could fly down again later in the summer - sure it would cost a bit more but we would get 2 trips instead of 1 this summer)

It will be me, SO and DD (10 yo) ... just during our last Disney trip in November did DD actually start to ride coasters and her favorite was Space Mountain and her least favorite was Mt. Everest. She couldn't do RNR because she isn't tall enough.

So onto the questions. We have 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) and really only want to spend 1 at the parks. On Saturday night we have Blue Man Group tickets @ 6pm (I think) so would we be able to do all of US if we got there at opening on Saturday? or should we wait til Sunday? If we did the park then BMG then went pack to the park would we have enough time to even do anything?

How much of a walk would it be from US to Blue Man Group? We thought about using the hotel shuttle... do you think this is a good option?

What are your must see things? I really think she is over Barney and all that but she may want a *peek* becuase she really is a kid at heart.

After ten Disney trips this is our first adventure outside of the world.

You can walk right out of Universal Studios and into the stadium where BMG is. When we were there last year, there was actually an entrance/exit there underneath RnR. It may not be there, now, but at most, it is a 5 minute walk from the main entrance.

If your DD liked Space Mountain, she will probably like Revenge of the Mummy. It has a short dark roller coaster part. We really enjoyed Men in Black--it is like Buzz Lightyear on steroids; you shoot aliens and when you shoot other cars, their car spins. Simpsons is a good one if you don't get motion sick. Jaws is good as well. Actually, all the rides there are good. If you are planning on getting it all done in one day, you need to get there before they open. I would do Simpsons, then MIB, then ROTM. By then, it will be getting busy and you can just go by how long the lines are. Good luck! We are staying onsite one night to get the FOTL, but then we are not going back for a year, so I understand your NOT doing that.

The entrance/exit under Rip Ride Rockit is still there. Used it today.

My must see thing is really the Horror Make-Up Show (which I think she would enjoy since I see a lot of kids around her age enjoying the show everytime I go). If you do go, definitely go on Saturday rather than Sunday. Better people there on Saturday. I do enjoy the other attractions at the parks. I think everything is worth trying at least once. :)

I hope you have a fantastic time! :upsidedow

Just a quick thought, you said your DD was not tall enough to ride RNR, that has a 48 inch height requirement. The FJ at WWOHP is 48 inches tall and so is the Mummy. She can pretty much do all the other rides at the park except for the coasters it seems like. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she grew the extra couple of inches needed to hit 48 inches.

I know my DD(7) is just now right at the 48 inch mark so maybe her shoes will need that little extra heel on it. :)

Thanks! It looks like we will do US on Saturday, getting there before it opens and then going to BMG and back to the park if we have time. Just now realizing we leave in 3 days!
