nervous prior to leaving for their disney trip? I guess what makes me the most nervous is that my kids will miss out on something due to my crumby planning. I've been to disney 4 or 5 times so I know whats there - there are some new things since I was there last - actually a lot of things! I was just reading about the reports on the 1st halloween party last night and it was awful weather. Now I'm worried about the weather, the love bugs, etc. I'm worried what we should do during the day prior to our MNSSHP party in the evening. Will the kids make it to the fireworks or will they be too tired? I've been reading which park to do first, which rides to do first, in which order and how to do the Fastpass/baby swap. Augggghhhh!

Anyone else worry? I do not want to ruin this trip so I have got to relax some how. And I won't get going on packing, should we use ME or towncar, plane ride. I remember when DH and I went - it was so easy. Anyone else get stressed out?

im a worrier too..i actually get panic attacks..the only thing i am worried about is one of my kids getting injured or sick out there..besides that im just glad to be on vacation w/my family..i have a list of things i want to do also but im not gonna push anyone to go "by the list". i just want to laugh, have no stress and spend time w/my kids. your family will have a good time no matter what you do. your in DISNEY for good sakes!!! just go w/the flow....:yay:

Yeah - we'll have fun. Hopefully no one will get sick seems like a lot of folks get sick when they go there. I guess I'll bring extra antibact. stuff. Have fun - I see you'll be there in 22 days.

You just have to tell yourself that you're SUPPOSED to miss out on something so that you have a reason to get back. ;)
Try not to put too much pressure on yourself...your children are young enough that they won't know if they have missed something, anyways. It's hard to have a "perfect" vacation, because there are always things out of your control, but I think that as long as you do some planning (which you've obviously done), the best thing to do is just go with the flow. On our most recent trip, we hurried to Fantasyland at park opening only to find out that Dumbo was broken! DH was so proud of me for not freaking out and I PROMISE it didn't ruin the vacation!

Good advice. :sunny:
Yes, I get worried right before the trip. I try not to, but I'll admit that I do. :guilty:

DH keeps saying that this is our last trip to WDW, so the pressure is on to do everything! But since we're planning our 4th trip, I'm trying to not stress out about doing everything.

DH and I have vowed to try to take time to let the boys swim in the resort pool or do "nothing". We tend to tour the parks commando style. I feel like every minute that we're not enjoying the parks, we're losing money (got to get the most out of the tickets). :rotfl:

I also stress out when I'm packing. I don't want to forget anything. Plus I want us to be comfortable, but look good in the pictures! One trip I came home and thought that every picture looked like an advertisement for Nike, Adidas or Old Navy because it was written on all my sons' shirts! :)

I hope we can all relax and enjoy our trips! :goodvibes

I just wanted to say we'll be arriving at about the same time! :goodvibes

I love this

So true!

We will be there two weeks and we have some stuff planned that we've never done before plus my parents will be with us part of the time. I am not super worried about the trip itself...I worry more about the getting there part (not a huge fan of flying but driving cross country is really not an option). I can usually deal with the weather. Last time it was love bug season, it really wasn't all that bad.

The comment about Dumbo being shut down reminds me too - you know Big Thunder Mtn wb closed starting on Oct 1 right? I know my ds was talking about this ride, wanting to go on it again, so I had to let him know he won't be able to ride it this trip. I'd rather he be disappointed now than get to the park and find out. Actually you can see all the scheduled ride closures for October here http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/rehabs.htm#oct

I agree though, relax, go with the flow, and expect there are going to be things out of your control. Expecting the unexpected usually helps keep expectations at a reasonable level.

hth and who knows we may even see eachother there! :)

Good advice! I know we won't be able to get back to disney for a long time - I guess thats why I'm trying to get everything in. But I think what I need to remember is that I want the kids to have a great time & having a grumpy Mom around doesn't make it too fun. They'd be content to swim in the pool all day. DH is always saying "they won't know what they've missed" like Epcot. I'm not sure if we'll get to Epcot or not but my DN9 has been to disney almost every year and hasn't gone to Epcot yet so I guess I shouldn't be worried. Thank you.

Me too! I'm so afraid I'll forget something vital. I have made a list for each child and two boxes to check after packing. One box after I put it in the suitcase and a second box that I double checked so I won't have to keep checking.

I'm sure we'll enjoy our trips - I keep reminding myself that our kids are only young once and that I need to enjoy them and not be so stressed out.

YES - I read that and am so bummed as BTTR is my favorite ride. I've changed our itinerary around so that we can be at MK on 9/30 & ride it as many times as we want. I originally had AK as our first park as the kids are so excited for the safari. We also have MNSSHP on 9/30 but not sure if this ride will be open - I'm assuming it will be but I'm not taking any chances.

We may see each other you never know. It can be a small world sometimes.
Have a wonderful trip and thanks for the advice.

Your kids are going to miss out on something- there is too much there to do it all, but so what? Like many things in life it is the quality not the quantity that matters. They won't know they what they miss. I do know how you feel we have taken dd 10 times so far and there are still things we didn't get to. Relax, make the best plan you can and go with the flow. They will love it and not have a clue they missed anything.

YES!! I have been planning our trip since March, and it's finally here! I am walking around with a pit in my stomach thinking my kids will end up getting sick, Garden Grocer won't show up, my room at POP won't be clean (thanks to some DIS members !!) our ADR's will be cancelled. What is wrong with me?? Oh, and the weather. I go on weather.com 5 times a day hoping for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We already ended up renting a minivan because I was freaking out about ME & waiting for busses. What is wrong with me?

I was so worried we would miss something that I started having those dreams that you are trying to get somewhere but can't. In the dream I wanted to get to the Magic Kingdom and my extended family kept stalling. The worst part was my extended family wasn't even going on the trip.

Just relax and remember if you forget something you can buy it there. Yes, you will not be able to see everything. But what you will see will be as magical as you make it.

ADRs being cancelled - thats a big one for me too. But I guess if that happens then there isn't much I can do about it. Renting a minivan - good for you - I still can't make up my mind on that one. It seems like such a hassle - I tried to figure out when to pick it up & when to drop off and I got totally frustrated. Sounds like you will pick up and drop off at the airport so that makes it easy. I don't want to drive to our resort (traffic, highways, tolls) & DH is an awful driver that we get into arguments sometimes about the way he drives so I definitely didn't want to drive from the airport. Waiting for buses - auggghhh!

We still have time before I check weather.com but don't worry I will be. I hope you have a wonderful time. I bet everything will be just fine.
