I was very surprised to get a phone call from my DVC guide for 2 reasons:
a. It was 8:00 PM on a Sat. night
b. My last add-on was over 5 years ago, and we haven't been in touch since then (not that I was expecting we would be).
He said he was calling all his customers with Dec. use years to let them know about a sales deal going on right now. If I add on before the end of October, I get that many points immediately as Dec. '06 points. I'd only have to pay 2 months of the dues for those points, and they could be used yet this year or banked. If I were to buy 110 or more points, there is a $10 per point discount.
This sales offer may be old news already. Truthfully, I don't pay much attention to what is selling and for how much, since I haven't been looking to add on. But part of me would love to do a little 25 point add-on either at BCV (one of my home resorts) or even possibly at VWL. At VWL, the idea would be to just do a 5-night studio stay during Adventure season every 3 years. Of course, I realize I'd have to waitlist to buy points at BCV or VWL.
My better wisdom tells me I need my dollars on the home front instead of for more DVC points.
But that phone call sure dangled temptation in my face.

See how little I've been paying attention since I lost interest in more add-ons over 5 years ago?
(We need a smilie with a dunce cap on.)
