Pete thank you so much for including the email from this little boys family. My husband and I were both in tears listening to this familys tragic story. I have a little boy around the same age and words can not express how sad I feel for this family. I will be sure to remember how lucky I am when my little boy calls for me in the morning. My thoughs and prayers are with little John Eric and his family. Give kids the world is such an amazing organization.

I was a mess after listening to that story too. My daughter is 18months and I can't imagine going through something like that.

Prayers and best wishes to that family.

Me too, I was getting ready for work this morning while listening and I had a terrible time putting on my makeup through the tears.

I had trouble thinking what to say, such a sad story yet such a wonderful message about GKTW.

A VERY touching story, and illustrative of how impactful charities like Give Kids The World can be; not just in the life of a child, but in that of his/her family as well. Glad his family made it despite the age limit.

Let's keep buying those T-shirts, people.... And send a little extra!! :thumbsup2

I know that was heartbreaking. I can't even imagine. God bless that man and his family.

I was crying on the way to work while listening to the E-mail show. I have not ordered my T-shirt yet because I'm waiting for my Income tax. but you have my word that as soon as it comes in I'm going to send my 25 bucks plus some to help the children out.

I am so touched that the dad sent in such a touching story and I am glad that you (Pete) shared it. It was so very touching and an emotional reminder that we all need to appreciate our loved ones each and every day.
I was also touched that he (the dad) was so supportive of GKTW even though little John Eric was too young to use thier services.
It was a very heartwrenching listen, but very much appreciated.

I had to sit in the parking lot at work to recover before I could go inside. Really a moving e-mail. Thank you for sharing John Eric's story.

I agree. Thank you Pete for sharing that families story. I was in tears. I could never imagine the pain of having to lose one of my children. I am so thankful for orginizations like Give Kids the World that can give families a little bit of solice at least for a week.

Yes, a very touching story. Thanks for sharing Pete, let's keep buying tshirt to help them. More blessing for that family. :)

I was applying my mascara as soon as he started to tell the story. I looked like a raccoon by the time he was done.

It was one of those stories that just grabs your attention. You sit there motionless as you listen so intently. It was almost like everything had stopped around me.

Thanks for sharing that story with us Pete. Keep buying those T-Shirts everyone.

Sobbing here too. What a touching story. Thanks for sharing that email.

I was at work when I listened to the email and was sobbing as well. I can not imagine losing a child let alone to something as devestating as cancer, but it happens all too often and is why it is so very important to these families to have something like GKW to turn to for precious family time and memories for these kids. I just could not imagine... So sad.

I was listening while at work and wish the gang could have issued a 'tissue warning' prior to reading that letter. I was a sobbing mess and had to stop listening to the podcast until later in the day. Heck, even now while typing this and thinking about that family, and the numerous other families that unfortunately have to deal with a sick child, I am tearing up.

I second the "tissue warning" request - just something, anything, to let me know that, as I am driving to lunch listening to the e-mail show, that I need to reach into the back seat to grab a tissue.

I was very touched by it as well. It really hit home with me because my bosses' 3 year old daughter was diagnosed w/ a grapefruit sized tumor in her brain last month. Thankfully, they've gotten most of it out, but she'll start chemo next week. It's been a very emotional time. Hearing poor little John Eric's story reminds me how lucky this little girl is.

Your boss's daughter is definately in my thoughts and I hope she has a complete recovery and a long long life.

I was also listening at work and had tears in my eyes after hearing that email. I cannot even imagine every having to go through something like that.
