I assume everyone has seen the West Coast excursions list. I can't decide what to do. They all sound so good! Have you done any of these before?
Which ones are you picking? The beach resorts sound so relaxing, but I haven't been to any of these places and touring sounds interesting. HELP!

Debbie

DH will do the scuba diving, and DS and I will do the beaches on our own and fit in some type of city walking or bus tour at each place...we've never been to any of them either. The boat trip at Cabo sounded good because DH can go along. Luckily CC is easy...the banana boat again. I'm thinking some night time ones for Acapulco should be added...then we'll do a dinner/cliff diver excursion.

I just found that DCL's website has the times of departure listed as well, so maybe what we do will depend on how early we have to get up! Anyone else have their plans yet?

Good call pppiglet...I would love to know what others are thinking about these excursions too. For months now we have had to wade through all the discussion of eastern/western caribbean and nassau excursions...

Personally, I see definitely getting off the ship at Puerto Vallarta...we will have been on it for 2 1/2 days straight! I am most interested in the Paradise Beach Adventure... I looked up the resort they list...it looks good. Not as spectacular as some there but a nice change from the dinky pools on the ship. What I really would like to do is take the family on the Pirate Sail and Snorkel... but it would be $228 for all of us...not sure if DH will go for that.

May stay on the ship for Mazatlan. MIL says it is a bigger city than Cabo...great shrimp market. Not sure what that does for those of us from a cruise ship, but is was memorable for her.
Our ports of call fall three days in a row! Kinda wish there was a day at sea in the middle somewhere. Cabo is nice for walking around town and shopping. But I've done that...may go for a snorkel trip if didn't get one in PV.

What is everyone else thinking?

Paradise Beach Adventure is one of the ones we are thinking about too. They show a morning and afternoon departure time. I wonder if we did the morning one would we have time to book something else for the afternoon. The PV city tour sounds good too.

I printed out all the excursions and * the one's I would be interested in, then had my DS initial the ones he likes. Now I have to get DH to check it out. He's in no hurry!

Cabo will be hard to choose...we checked off so many we liked.

Matzatlan probably beach resort or tour and shopping.

We are having the same problem trying to decide and agree on some we can do together as a family or with our friends. My sons (19. 17) are interested in certain ones that us parents might not be or might not be able to do. Horseback riding sounds great, zipping through the rainforest sounds great, snorkeling sounds great, relaxing at the beaches sounds great, swimming with the Dolphins - too many choices that sound good. We are 5 - the excursions are going to come out costing more than the cruise. :smooth:

We are looking at the kids dolphin encounter at Puerta Vallarta and the beach excursion at Cabo. However we would like to check out Cabo on our own (really want to visit Cabo Wabo) so we may end up doing the beach day at Mazatlan instead. Such tough decisions!!!! :confused3 :sunny:

We are definitely doing the Pirate Sail and Snorkel excursion in PV. pirate:

In Mazatlan, we are still looking; might just walk around the check the area out. :confused3

In Cabo, we may go snorkeling but will decide more when we get to port as there are tons of excursions available off the ship at approximately half the cost.

We have been to these ports previously in 1993 on the Carnival Pride. Last time, we spent the day at Las Caletas in PV; went to Stone Island in Mazatlan and the snorkeled in Cabo.

In discussing the excursions for this trip, we discussed our 1993 trip and felt that our best bet then was the Las Caletas trip because it included everything: lunch, drinks, entertainment, water sports, tours, etc.

wmjivey...How did you like the Stone Island tour? That was another on our list.

Camcolt....someone else pointed out to me that Cabo Wabo is more night life and
we will be back to the ship by 3:30 that day. They have so many things to see in Cabo too. I wish it was one of the longer port days!

Thats ok, ppiglet. We will have our kids with us so we wont be going to party. Just want to check it out and maybe grab a bite to eat. We definitely wont get the full effect of the place, but want to at least see it. ;)

pppiglet -- Stone Island was interesting but we did not feel it was worth the money.

wmjivey--I checked the website for the Pirate boat trip...it would be like $70 cheaper to book directly with them. Not sure if you know but, is the draw back to doing that only that you would have to find your own transportation to where they launch?

Stinasmom -- Thanks for the infor. We are already booked directly through the Pirate shipt itself. I also found it to be much cheaper than going through Disney. The ship is right where the Magic will dock so it is nothing to walk to it and since there will be other Magic passengers, we do not feel that we need to worry about missing the ship if we are late getting back. Thanks again for your help.

Oooohhh....this is very good to know! We may just have to do this one! I like that we can book online directly now and not wait until 90 days out.
Thanks!

Oh no. I just tried to make a reservation directly with the Pirate people and they won't let me select that date! I suspect Disney has so many spots blocked that the are no longer taking ressies from others...

Our family was in Puerto Vallarta last summer and did the Dolphin Swim and it was amazing. I would definately recommend it over the Dolphin Encounter. Our 16 year old DD thought it was the best thing she has EVER done! Pretty amazing for a teenager to say :earsgirl:

Help...what's the pirate ship excursion? Which excursion was it listed under? Also, I want to go to the arches in Cabo. Anyone know of the direct link I can book with?

Thanks!!! O.K. now anyone have any websites on tours I can get in Puerto Vallarta? I'm interested in just a short city tour.

Camcolt...we too just really want to see Cabo Wabo and maybe grab a bite to eat. I think a few months ago I checked the website and checked out their menu and it had some really different things on it.
