The last time I visited WDW was in Sept, 1991. It was just my DH and I at the time. We've been planning a trip for Dec. with our 2 sons (11 & 8). So, I dug out the old photo albums from the last trip to show them. Boy, did things look different back then!
For one thing, there were only 3 parks (no AK yet). We have pictures of Splash Mountain under construction. Pirates was closed for rennovations. Epcot was called EPCOT Center and there were pavillions called World of Motion (now Test Track) and Horizons. We had a character breakfast on the Empress Lily, a stern-wheeler parked by Pleasure Island. The restaurant at the top of the Contemporary was called Top of the World. They had a dinner show there called Broadway at the Top which we went to. We also went to the Hoop De Doo and hung out in the Adventurer's Club a few nights. We stayed at the CBR. Typhoon Lagoon was the only big water park.
Also, does anyone remember Discovery Island? You could take a launch from Magic Kingdom to this little island that had lots of plant and birds to look at. We have lots of pictures from there. I have an old menu from the Coral Reef and a place on PI called The Fireworks Factory that served BBQ.
The most puzzling part about the pictures for our boys is why Mommy and Daddy didn't quite look like themselves. I told them we were skinnier then and Daddy had more hair!!!
