I have never had any problems with the Disney Store and I hate to complain about them, but......Our store closed and I needed 3 birthday presents and knew that I wanted them from TDS, so I drove 2 hours today to get some things from there for the birthday girls. Keep in mind, I just found out last Friday that mine had closed, I had NO IDEA! I bought a t-shirt for each girl and 3 other little things for each one. I got home tonight and the shirts were not in there! The party is Friday at 1pm. The teenager on the phone who claims to be the manager said all she can do is UPS them in the morning and cannot overnight them. My UPS does not run until 5 or 6pm and the party for the 3 girls will be long over by then :furious:

The girl/manager was not much help and not very concerned about the issue. I even called back to ask her if I arranged for Fed Ex to pick them up in the morning and have it overnighted to me at my expense, would she do that, and she said she couldn't. I finally got so frustrated with her lack of help that I just told her to ship it and hung up. Granted, I guess I should have checked my bags, but I had so much stuff and was trying to keep an eye on my 4 and 2 year old, I guess I just assumed incorrectly that everything would be in there!! I did not want to drive another 2 hours up there and back for some t-shirts with the price of gas, but DANG, now I guess I will have to go buy 3 more presents. I will definitely try to get another manager tomorrow about the way it was handled.

Sorry, just had to vent!!!:rolleyes1

That is upsetting! How old are the children? Would you be able to give them a card with a message in it telling them that the present is being shipped and will arrive a day or two late?

If there are lots of other children at the party, it might even be nice to have a gift come a little late. Something to look forward to!

That is extremely frustrating. I would probably call back and say either you over night them or let me pay to overnight them or else I will call the credit card company and reverse the charges!! (Hopefully that is how you paid for them) They are closing so I guess you getting mad has little effect. But I know they don't care for credit charge backs.

I also think that the other poster had a great suggestion, get online and print a picture of the gifts and wrap that for the girls. When the shirts arrive you can give them to them then. Birthday party gift openings are a flurry of paper and a quick peek and moving on to the next gift. So they might actually enjoy and appreciate them a day or so after the party!! HTH

THanks guys, the girls are all going to be 5, so I don't know how a picture would go over with them :) Also, it is going to be a small party with just the 3 birthday girls and 2 others, so a lack of a present would be noticed and missed, I think.

The store I bought them at is not closing, just the one I had here in town, didn't know if I was confusing the 2 in my original post.

I am slowly cooling off, I just hate poor customer service, especially from Disney :(

That is too bad. With such a small group, you're right it wouldn't go over to well.

Hopefully you will get someone different tomorrow when you call. Maybe they can do something!

I use to do this for my daughter when she was that age....Send them on a scavenger/treasure hunt. Cute clues leading them around the house, maybe work in wait for the clock to strike two and I will have another clue for you. You will be surprised how long you can make this last. (I did one last year when taking DD to High School Musical on Ice and it lasted two days!) By the time the UPS package arrives, they will be ready. When there is a knock on the door and the truck is brown, time to get ready and just sit down. Closing your eyes is a must, because tink herself is going to shower you with pixie dust. (just a bit of glitter and you have a memory to last forever) Obviously it is late and I am just rambling on to try and give you ideas.

Have a great day!

Jennifer
