So mad about my $500 Visa "reward" for adding on

GREAT NEWS! I talked to the woman at ticketing today, who knew what she was doing, and had it all fixed within 10 min. Granted, I was on hold 26 min, but it was worth it. She reversed the charges on my CC and put $500 on my Visa Debit I got for buying more points. I'm so relieved

I'm so glad it worked out. Isn't it helpful when you actually talk to a competent CM.

We added on 100 pts when we were at SSR 2 weeks ago and didn't get any $500 gift card. Did we get taken on that deal? Were we supposed to get the gift card?

Notaclue: We bought back in March and it was a promotion, they had it just took forever to get my card. I'm not sure if the promotion was only for AKV, which is where we bought

I've read that with gift cards being used as credit card purchases, you have to "assign" yourself to the g/c. Since the retailer tries to process it like a credit card, it is looking for the billing name and address to match the purchasing name and address. And when they don't match, because usually pre-paid g/c don't have your name and address unless you physically add it, it gets declined.

I'm not sure I explained this correctly, but hopefully it makes a little sense to someone.

It states somewhere in the papers the above. When making an online purchase, it can't verify your name and address because your name and address is not assigned to the card. I was disappointed about this as well.

As far as I have been told, you cannot use gift cards towards a pass.

Disneygiftcard.com still states that you can use Disney GCs towards an AP.


OP glad they got it to work! Did the CM tell you what she did that was different from the other CMs?

bumber: she said she was doing a reverse charge to first make sure it worked, and when it did, she applied $500 to it, and credited $500 back to my other card. She didn't tell me what specifically went wrong, but she was great and knew exactly what to do! The $500 was back on my other credit card within 4 days.
