I was looking to see if you posted anything about it, but didnt find anything. Did you like RPR?

hey linda linda.........didn't see this thread, passed right by it.
did notice there were 26 lurkers and no posters as of now.

i always have a great trip when i do universal and especially hhn......can never get enough of it.

yes, this was the virgin stay at rph for me. hrh has always been my home in the past.

rph did not wow me like i thought it would except for the view of the room i had in tower 1 1746. lights in IOA were out early and did miss a night view. of course, didn't make it back to the room until almost 3 in the morning after the friday and saturday hhn nights.

i will try rph one more time before i make a statement on it.
it has a great lobby and better choices of resturants.
i have to go back to hrh soon as i want to see the renovations done there, especially the plasma tv..........as if i would watch any tv while i am at universal... :rotfl: only watch the weather channel when there.

it was the best 4 day time for universal for me.
low crowds as if that would make a difference when using fotl but less people to walk around when crowds are down.

the hhn events were as good as it gets. friday did not have the crowds and could repeat houses left and right once it was 11:30 at night.
saturday, crowds......but the s & s section came out ahead in the lines.
sunday, too crowded and the s & s section was not worth it for me at the finnegans stay. other nights i used the other section by DOT.
sunday must have been the frequent fear pass holders as the place was packed and had to start using my ep by 8 in the evening.

that will probably be something i will have to keep in mind on the sundays which is a non peak night. the freq fear pass holders will be out in force.

i liked the hhn event at the studios but after reading the horrors of lines and waits and crowds from hell week to now, i hope UO keeps the event in both parks for next year.

the great thing of doing the parks in the morning and afternoon during hhn dates is the low crowds and less wait in the resturants and counter places for food. a lot of people wait until 3ish to come to the parks for the hard ticket event in the evening. even columbus day was low on crowds. or, it was for where i was at the time.

i should do a trip report.
:smokin:

yes macraven you should do a trip report..... :thumbsup2

I saw in one of your other posts that you start planning in January for HHN. how do you plan that far in advance without the dates of HHN? Any tips would help as I would like to plan my trip early too.
Thanks!

i look at the october calender for the next year, in this case for 2007.
seeing what the weekend dates are, i make a decision on 1st or 2nd weekend.
i aim for a 3 day weekend for hhn event.

i also do some checking with certain people to see if there are any special events for the weekend i chose. this year on opening weekend, sunday was not on the hhn line up. that eliminated the first weekend for me.

i book my hotel january 2nd and pay one night deposit. reason for that.

i book with AAA and watch the rates starting in august. if the AP rates drop faster, i modify my ressie and can switch to the ap rate if it is going to make a big difference in a 4 night stay savings. i just keep that option open. my main goal is to lock in a hotel and room preference very early in order to secure my choice.

will do a trip report with my suggestions soon.
